Does that make it more special or less special? More real or no better than a dream?

Well you just summed up life right? The meaning is what you make of it when you die.
Eli Turner
You forgot >just smart enough to realise the pointlessness of our efforts, how our achievements will last but a moment in the history of the universe, to be washed away into nothingness by the endless march of time >compelled against reason to struggle on anyway Truly human existence is the most tragic on Earth.

"What we do in life echoes in eternity" Not that we are remembered but the events and our lives themselves and what we did can never be changed or taken away from us.

Life may be objectively meaningless and we may just be mere mortals but in a way there's beauty in this way of life. To make our own meaning and to live life knowing that one day you truly will cease to exist, just a better to reason to "Rage, rage against the dying of the light"

If you're asking what life is or means, why ask other humans?
Why not scream out into the darkness, what is life? The darkness is a part of life as much as your brother or your sister or your wife is.
Any answer (or lack thereof) given by a human is just as much worth any answer given by a rock, or an endless sea of stars, which is to say.. nothing. No, less than nothing.. just (BLANK).
What is life about? Listen to nothing, see nothing, close your eyes, feel nothing. That's what life is about. A giant blank.
Why does that matter to you? Why does it matter to me? My question is also 'blank'. The only thing ever to exist in this reality is an unchanging sea of atoms, in the sense that they just exchanged electrons with eachother and then disappeared. All these questiosn and everything are just projections, humanizations of the void.

We are beings of conflict and resolution. We are merely controlled by an original thought subjugated from another. Identity in oneself? No, our identity is the span of eons of ancestors cultivating a home we will likely destroy, because what is resolution without conflict?

~30 billion humans have existed so far, including our relatives from 100000s of years ago, the vast proportion of these have existed only recently as a result of agriculture. So if you were to select a human at random you would be unlikely to be a hunter gatherer from long ago.
If civilization is possible at all and you are a human, you are most likely to be one of the humans that existed after civilization and populations boomed.
Likewise if life is possible in the universe at all, any life that exists will find itself on one of the few planets where life is possible, however unlikely.
Jayden Taylor
>>Be bald ape on a blue rock in an eternal, endless void >bald ape Is it more correct to call humans a bald ape or hairy lizard?

The most extreme environments on the Earth's surface are far more hospitable than most other worlds. The main problem is a lack of liquid water.
>crackpot theories designed to make human being think they are special Maybe, but the majority of Americans believe there is life on other worlds and there is no conclusive evidence yet, so I don't think the accusation applies to all. This is recent discovery is compelling though, we might have evidence soon.
Humans maybe, though not necessarily civilization.

Life only has as much meaning as we prescribe to it, ultimately life has no meaning; the universe will carry on with or without us, however we still know we exist within the bounds of this universe, and even if nothing awaits us after dying we can at least cling to the hope that our achievements and progeny will be able to make life more worth living for those that will come after us, so that they won't have to exist in the state that we do, so that they have a larger measure of autonomy over their lives than we do. We give life meaning for a future we will never see, but one that we know must exist from our observations of the past.
