Well, for a 'character', literally posted the Greek letter lambda (λ), which has been adopted as a symbol by some n the LGBT community, and from there I got to thinking about other Greek characters and boards for no good reason, and my thinking was something like this:

-beta (β) would be /r9k/ for all the beta self-pitying and so on;

-delta (δ), pi (π), and tau (τ) have significant uses in mathematics and the sciences;
-epsilon (ε) has a meaning in math too, paticularly in calculus as symbolizing some small quantity, which mathematician Paul Erdős riffed on by jokingly referring to children as epsilons, and so I (somewhat unfairly) lumped in some boards based on that;
-kappa (k) makes me think of fraternities, so Veeky Forums and Veeky Forums;
-not sure, ironically, what character to associate with our little shrine to belles lettres here;
- for /b/ I used stigma (ϛ) because of the name of the character.
