I didn't eat for 10 hours once. It was horrible.

Fatass

somewhere around 40 hours, stopped being hungry after the first day or so, had a decreased appetite for a couple weeks after, went from being able to house 2 20+ ounce steaks and sides in a sitting to struggling to finish a ~12 ounce one, would not recommend

There was a stretch of time where it basically went:
>forget lunch going to work
>shit hits the fan at work can't go get lunch
>have to stay later than I expected
>had to drive all night for another obligation
>get there shit immediately hits fan
>no time to eat until 4 that night
>at that point I'm not really feeling hungry so I just keep working
>smoking like mad and drinking water
>drive back home
>sit down immediately order pizza
>eat all of it and sleep for 14 hours
All in all I suppose I didn't eat for a little more than 72 hours, definitely didn't feel good, but there was a point where it's like my body just had resigned itself to the fact it wasn't going to get any food, you know as soon as I smelled that pizza grease it was like mana from heaven though.

Why didn't you eat in the first place?

4 days on adderall cramming for finals. I took them all, went back to my room and slept for 36 hours.

Woke up and ordered over $100 worth of sushi delivery and ate it all.

Around a month. Felt sort of spaced out sometimes and lost some weight, otherwise didn't do much.

nigga you can't just not eat for a month

It was pretty easy actually. Probably have some sort of mental issues that made it easier but I wouldn't even call it fasting since I wasn't really trying not to eat so much as I just didn't.

Three full days, plus the day prior I had only coffee - the days before that painful meals. I had pancreatitis and the only solution was to not eat apparently, so I got pain killers and suffered through three days of ten hour wagie retail shifts. By the end I couldnt really think.

TLDR 4 full days with sub 1k calorie days before that while working full time.

Why tf would you work like that

Don't remember but I had to go to the hospital once to get liquid food through them tubes.

used to do a lot of bath salts and other amphetamines back in the day. i went about 4 days without food or sleep and i remember constantly seeing red and blue lights outside my window like it was the police waiting there or something. that was when i knew ive been awake for too long so i drove to CVS and refiled my ambien prescription and took all 30x10mg pills at once. my lamp shade kept turning into the scream face so i just decided to go buy a cat instead and then got arrested for driving under the influence

Like 2 weeks because I had a really terrible migraine onset that lasted for a year and a half

3 days completely, 3 months of less than 1k calories every day. I was a fat fuck tryna lose weight and then just lost control and developed ED

3 weeks

don't do it

I'm on a five day fast right meow actually. I haven't eaten since Tuesday, just water and multivitamins. My first mini meal to break it is gonna be Greek yogurt with some almonds and blueberries with some local honey mixed together.

I'm wondering what my first really good meal should be though, any ideas?

nachos

What compelled you to fast for 5 days?

curiosity, I wanted to see how long I could go without eating, turns out pretty long, the only reason I stopped the fast was because my curiously was satisfied, I feel I could have keep the it up until something bad happened

Nice freudian slip there

Happen to me. 2-3 months of 800 calories a day. Developed Ed and had to take Cialis. Girl ended up dumping me over the sex (I found it hard to cum). Ended up emotional fucked from the dieting and then was dumped so that matters worse kek

Until I started hallucinating/getting kill impulses which was on the third day. I'm sure I could have gone longer if I dropped my blood glucose first.

I had a near death experience that changed me completely. I turned my life around and became a better person for it so every year between January 10th and 15th I fast for five days. The fifth day I go out in the beach at night and swim in the water to pay ritual tribute to the day I died. It reminds me where I came from.

you talk like a fag

I wish that near death experience had been just enough closer

you seem like the kind of person who's pretty good at sucking dicks

I was hospitalized for coughing up blood once. Had to fast for 10 hours before a procedure for them to shove a camera into my lungs. The hospital staff then forgot to feed me for another 12 hours after the procedure and it was Christmas eve so I cried myself to sleep.

...

Young, wanted to suffer. Wanted to post about it on Veeky Forums later.

Top kek what a loser

I've gone 5 days. I wish everyone in the US was forced to. There wouldn't be the "eww, I don't like that - it's gross!" There also wouldn't be the neurotic, allergy culture or weird fad conman diet acceptance. People would eat food that provided nutrition.

I like you

Why did you cough blood?

Nah when I wrote it and read it, it sounded pretty gay in writing. I'll probably just keep it to myself from now on.

i am glad someone finds it entertaining. it sounds funny in hindsight but at the time it was a very sad and very real situation that i regret happening

Two weeks.I had a bit of a cold but even before that I had such horrible constipation that I guess my brain just said no more food or some shit.
I was still able to focus, move around, work like a dog, etc but definitely didn't feel good and I felt like I could feel my body just wasting away.

I did the whole fat person develops eating disorder thing when I went to college. Got the freedom to control my food intake and decided no food was the way to go.
At the longest it was probably a week without actually eating but I would slam down diet sodas and gallons of water to pretend to be full. A few months of actively avoiding eating and I lost weight but it took years to get a normal eating habit again, I'd get full after a fraction of a normal meal and to this day I never got back to 3 full meals but my weight is normal.

The first day you get real hungry and your stomach will rumble and churn. After 3 days you stop being hungry in the same way, more just empty. At five days the pain starts, when your stomach would rumble normally it feels like a knife and you'll be super out of it like you hadnt slept or were drunk.

I doubt that if circumstances had made me skip meals instead of my own choices that I would have been able to handle it, the mental and physical burden is not pleasant.

>Have near death experience
>Survive
>Not celebrating with expensive booze and hookers

About 45 hours, although i did try to eat i threw it up. Had appendicitis, i was on a drip for half of it so it didn't really count. The juice they gave me when i woke up was the best goddamn thing i've ever tasted, maybe since i was still flying from the opiates. I ate solid food the next day.

>going swimming at night after 5 days without food
You're clearly not the brightest fellow, are you?

>Not waiting 5 days instead of 30 min after eating to make sure it's safe to swim

It's been fine the past few years

during a really REALLY shit thing I did during my deployment I ended up not eating for 3 days under the middle eastern sun

fucking. sucked.

>There wouldn't be the "eww, I don't like that - it's gross!" There also wouldn't be the neurotic, allergy culture or weird fad conman diet acceptance. People would eat food that provided nutrition.
that'd last 3 weeks tops and we'd all be back to our old shit, and you know it

2 days
i had a bone tumor removed. i couldnt eat for 24 hours before surgery and 24 hours after

pretty much same thing here but it was different surgery. but I had to fast and take a bunch of laxatives and enemas and shit.

Its an awful, awful idea. I passed out cycling once after going a day without eating. Was lucky I didn't get run over. One year you're gonna drown

I'll keep that in mind man

Fat people should be forced to starve to death

what an edifying and relevant comment

I went 4 days without food while on a meth binge. Didn't sleep either.

The come down was pretty horrible.

A small moon in Canada went a year without eating, just got an iv of saline pumped into him, lost like 200 pounds in a year

24 hours including sleep. not nearly as bad as not sleeping for a day. I want to try for longer sometime.

About to do a 3 day water fast. What should I know before heading in?

>About 86 hours
Stopped eating night before a surgery and it took them an entire day to get ready. Surgery was done next morning of that day.
At this point body looked basically the same. I felt tired and had less energy. I was kinda hungry for the first 6 ish hours after waking up. Then the hunger just sorta faded away.

After the surgery i didn't eat for over 48 hours. Cause of the surgery, I had a scar on my belly. I had visibly lost muscle. I didn't even have the energy to get up and look at myself in the mirror until I ate. I wasn't allowed to drink a lot of water, so throat was dryer than op's nans cunt. It hurt even more cause of breathing tubes they put down your throat. Couldn't concentrate. Obviously couldn't move around much, but that was cause of surgery.

If you don't count calories from alcohol, probably a week or two below 500cal/day. Several times.
It ends up with pancreatitis.

5 Days.
Wanted to make it seven days, but on the fifth day I had to puke and thought that it would be better to stop

Hello fellow on-call support engineer.

I fast at least about 18-20 hours every day, longest I've gone is only two days though.

four days I think?

my vision started blacking out in the middle of my commute on the skytrain and I had to made sure I didn't fall over

after that my entire vision was very glowy and 'euphoric' where all light sources seemed to have huge amounts of bloom

about 3 days
I managed to get a full body fungal infection, and because of that all i could do was use all my energy to either drink water, or piss. it was not very fun

Seven days, I had a glass of apple juice a day though and a bit of honey in my tea. The last few days the apple juice just went through my intestines and I could poop it after ten minutes. I felt pretty good, but also pretty hungery.

No anorexics in? I lasted 6 months on an apple a day, plus black coffee and occasional cigars. Ended up on 28 kg (61.7 lbs), and shrunk two inches.

Not him but I doubt you would say that if you had one.

About 4 or 5 days. Day before a surgery, day 1, day 2 of surgery and couldn't really eat anything for 2-3 days after.

Though my pressure was like 90/40 for a bit there too

When I was younger and devoutly Catholic, I learned that before those pussies ruined everything with Vatican II you were supposed to fast before taking communion. So for 12+ hours before going to mass I wouldn't eat anything, so my body would be more pure to better receive the body of Jesus. I would be sitting in church and feel faint and get big head rushes every time you had to go from sitting to standing to kneeling to sitting to kneeling to standing... I convinced myself I was being overtaken by the Holy Spirit.

Now I eat brunch on Sundays.

5 days, after having a falling out with a former friend, consumed zero calories, no juice or nothin'. 4th day I woke up feeling great. 5th day I woke up at 4:30 AM, legs were numb, couldn't sleep but started blacking out if I stood up too fast. After that ate around 800 cals for a few months. Not a fun time

>feeling faint after 12 hours without food

Are you morbidly obese or something? Do you get up in the middle of the night to snack?

>>A small moon

Say what nigga?

I believe what that user is getting at is someone who is so fat that they've begun to maintain a gravitational pull of their own.

Moon is the next evolutionary step after whale.

>full body fungal infection
How?

Ever played 'The last of us'?

Im allergic to anti persperents, got a small rash, that i also, unbeknownst to me, triggered a very small fungal infection in my armpits. I went to the doctors, and they gave me steroids to treat what they thought was just an allergic reaction. Turns out steroids cause fungus to grow, and after i was done with the regiment it had spread to just about everywhere. Luckily lawsuit money is very lucrative

>they gave me steroids
>a very small fungal infection in my armpits.
>lawsuit money
Do American really troll with such subtlety?

not him but I dont think is just being hungry, mass is pretty boring, if you are a little bit tired your body is fighting your desire to sleep plus you being hungry, I attended a few catholic spiritual retirement, and is basically part of their formula, make you tired, make you hungry, get you sick if they can (using coldwater in activities and then being exposed to the sun) stuff like that, so you are more temperamental, gen angry for something stupid, they make you realize that it was something stupid and there you have, you need Jesus in your life to change your attitude, also easier for you to cry etc etc.

Underrated

He already cheated death once, now he's just making sure the reaper gets a fair shot at him once a year.

Me desu, once went three days without eating anything, the pain really only started knawing at me the afternoon of the second day and by the third I was starting to get dizzy and had no energy, so I ate. I typically eat one meal a day though, it's very easy to subsist on that when you're busy.

I fast 1 day a week. It makes me ravenously hungry and horny the next day.

this. This right here almost killed me half a year ago. Never again.

This is a good way to shorten your life by unnecessarily starving your body like a stupid african child

Is it really that bad for you?

I'm riding on underweight but drink most my calories.

I'm a poor college student who went through some rough financial times. About a month ago a had just a bowl or two of plain rice for a couple days. Technically not fasting, but for a chubby American like me it was awful.

The body is much more resilient than you may believe just imagine how much of a load it is for the body to keep folks alright while they only eat junk food daily since they have zero health education and see a doctor who tells them to drink water more regularly and come see me again in 18 months

A friend of mine almost committed suicide because of fasting.

He got sick with heavy flu, I can't translate the name in English, but basically was bedridden and had no appetite + diarrhea.

After a few days of eating very little, he lost all appetite and suddenly felt "liberated" from his need to eat. He described it as Ataraxia: the lack of problems, the inner peace.

After about a week and a half of eating pretty much nothing, he started to feel a tinge of hunger, and decided that he'd prefer dying over having to be stuck eating again, like a prisoner of his own needs.

He had to be physically prevented from jumping off the window. Thankfully, most of his muscle mass had been reduced to nothing already. He ended up eating again after the incident.

I was very surprised to hear that story, because the guy is anything but depressed. Does fasting really bring you such big peace of mind that you'd kill yourself rather than lose it, or was he delirious?

>getting kill impulses
source? anyone have more info on this? highly interested

~35ish hours

Was hospitalised because of being nearly dead, fasted through lunch due to running tests all day, skipped dinner because I was dead tired after being on blood transfusions for 12 hours straight with no sleep and no food for 24 hours. In the morning I fasted through breakfast for one last test then missed lunch by about 10 minutes because I was being transferred to another hospital, where I arrived too late for lunch and turned down the awful packaged cheese/salad sandwich that I was offered. Wasn't even hungry when dinner rolled around but I remembered that you need food to live so I ate it. Also I lowkey didn't want to get put on suicide watch or some shit for skipping meals.

Being in hospital fucking sucks come to think of it. I missed exactly 50% of the meals during my time there due to tests/procedures/whatnot. Lost 5kg in 5 days lying on a bed all day.

>Is it really that bad for you?
youtube.com/watch?v=CrTlI6seM0A

i know about addiction, that's irrelevant.

is drinking the majority of your calories bad?

I didn't eat for about 24 hours and last night I had 7 tacos. I just eat more all at once if I go a long period without eating. I usually don't do it though.

In high school I wanted to see how long I could go without eating, while doing normal activities. During our one hour lunch time we played football (soccer) in the hot son and after school I'd go to the beach and swim, etc. So I'd say I was spending about 3500 calories a day.

I lasted two full days and on the third one it was very hard to think. I remember in math class I couldn't do simple algebra, I was very irritable and that evening I ate a fuck ton of food.

Now, one day a week I eat very little. A late breakfast, usually a bowl of cereal, or some smoked salmon and a slice of bread. I find that it improves with my metabolism and my overall well-being.

>implying living organisms are better suited for opulence than for scarcity

I fast from 11pm to 1pm the next day. Feels good, man. Anything longer feels kind of shitty. I struggle with overeating and fasting helps me to be more conscious of my compulsions

>not eating for 14 hours, 8 of which you slept through
>"fasting"
Are you fat?

3 days (though I could have soup and jelly) because I had to get a camera up my ass.

Wasn't too bad really, though I pretty much spent it playing video games for an obscene amount of time. So long as I could focus on something else and not expend too much energy, I didn't really feel any difference at all.

Until I had to make the trip to the hospital and my body just screamed "OH FUCK THERE'S NOTHING IN HERE! ATTACK THE HEAD! ATTACK THE HEAD!!"

5 day

It wasn't that bad, but i was already skinny and i just slept most of the time.
Atm doing a 2 day one, its pretty fun overall expecially when you are a neet

8 days in a row in high school, it fucked up my metabolism and now I can't lose weight. Also probably did some serious damage to my organs. Would not recommend doing it for more then 2 days.

>Drinking a handle a day is irrelevant.
>Is drinking a handle a day bad?

Yes it is you dumb fuck.
