The Catcher in the Rye

The Waste Land

Some user once said that Sam Hyde was actually pretty well read (like he knew Evola and other right wing philosophers)

Is that bullshit?

...

he's not stupid. he got in carnegie mellon

probably

His comedy is very smart, the new show is great. I wouldn't be surprised.

>makes fun of neets
>reads Philosophy
suicide when?

Does he have a youtube channel or something

It's interesting to think that what he's doing might be more self-conscious and philosophically thought out than le knee-jerk alt right shock humour. He certainly seems miles ahead of other alt right figure heads, like that Milo cunt, in terms of skewering exactly the problems of the modern left.

I guess, the problem is that there's this constant whiff of irony in everything he says. You can't really tell what he believes. Which is necessary--otherwise he wouldn't have a voice in the mainstream (and he can get away with far more extreme statements than most)--but also blunts his ideas a little bit, in a way that's, at the end of the day, a little cowardly.

He's a mass murderer.

>You can't really tell what he believes.
No I don't think there is really any irony. I always interpret his humor as very sincere.

he is definitely right wing duder

I've no doubt he believes some of it, but there are times when he's being clearly sincere, and times when he's being clearly provocative and insincere, and then there's all these times in between where it's just not clear.

>in between where it's just not clear.
I think your giving him the benefit of the doubt a little too hard. Its not difficult for me to see his legitimate beliefs leaking into his humor. The guy is a definite fascist

IN his Rutgers talk he attributed an Evola quote to Michelle Obama, however Sam Hyde relies on a number of writers for his material. He's not that literate but I think he is trying to make an effort

Sun and Zippy Water

Other alt right recs thread was just deleted by mods once they the conversation shifted and they were outed as newfags.
hmmm...

Ride the Tiger: A Survival Manual for the Aristocrats of the Soul
Race, Evolution and Behaviour
The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life
IQ and the Wealth of Nations
Walden
The assorted writings of Cicero
The Camp of the Saints

Yeah I saw the memes, hilarious. I never actually looked him up though.

He's a big fan of Gene Wolfe, for real. He linked it on his Facebook page.

He's talked about the shadow of the torturer and confederacy of dunces as being good favorites before

I agree with you user. For example,
youtu.be/-ZekZbKomFA
It's things like this, along with the fact that he comes from an educated background and the fact that everything he says is dripping in irony and usually followed with his disingenuous, misshapen smile, that make me think he's just a mouthpiece of the alt right. This has struck me as off since his early MDE vids.

Or else it's all a part of his master comedic strategy? I don't think so. He's one of the new media figures tasked with carrying the Trump flag, and almost certain he's getting something out of it for himself.

Any link? I remember only Wolfe from Facebook.

he post on Veeky Forums lol

>evola
>gene wolfe
he fuckin post here lol

Every time you use the term alt-right you show that you're on the wrong website and the rest of your post is thereby discarded. Using 'alt-right' is the same as talking about the anonymous hacker known as Veeky Forums; it's what people who don't post here use to try and explain what's happening here.

Evola being right wing is a meme made up by plebs who haven't read him and jerk off on him because he said the word "tradition".

Here we just call it "/pol/".

>Clinton said it therefore we have to abandon it in case we catch liberalism

The ALTERNATIVE right is a profoundly useful concept in understanding the modification of right wing principles in a post-internet age

Fuck off to /pol/ with your "what's happening here". It's not some mysterious, strange, unseen phenomenon; it's a cultural leaning to the right of a certain demographic as a reaction to the alleged dominance of the left wing.

Never read him desu. Could you explain this a little bit?

don't need books

this video will teach you everything you need to know about being an evolaesque hyerborean superman:

Where can I find a full version of that show?

you can torrent it from the famous torrent sites

Yep, desu
You don't even know what the right is. If you did you'd realize the alt-right makes no sense.

Will the alt right fuck up politics for traditional conservatives (kek, wat?) and reactionaries like my Dad?

Can language handle the continuous redefining of words and still convey meaning?

I hope all the traditional conservatives die eventually

The right isn't anything. It describes a cluster of ideologies which bear a family resemblance. The term alt-right makes perfect sense within the discursive context of 21st century politics, as a way of differentiating it from the previous epoch's version of conservatism. You can criticize it as American-centric, but I don't see why we need to throw it out entirely because it has it's problems as a term

Is Sam Hyde the right-wing, perverted equivalent of Zizek?

Dude, that's Nick Land

We're getting there, maybe another decade or so

I bet he posts her.

HE DOES LMAOOO!! WHO THE FUCK DO YOUT HINK MADE THIS THREAD

Posts who?

her

How can one man be so red-pilled?

i think sam hyde is actually, slowly going nuts.

The alt right makes no sense because the right is simply whatever the left is not. Left = egalitarian, right = anything less egalitarian than the current baseline.

I throw it out entirely because it is an attempt by more streamlined forces to take something somewhat out of their sphere of influence and place it under their control. I don't think you could really define alt-right except as something like 'a new right' 'a modern right' which doesn't amount to shit. There is a world of difference between Milo or McInnes or Sam Hyde yet they are all 'alt-right'. A very weak term that should be used only to identify those who are not in 'the know'.

(((her)))

I've seen this picture so many times and I still don't know the context behind it. Like I get it's like a tongue in cheek Nietzschian thing but what's actually the context?

How does someone like Sam Hyde happen?

it's a joke. it's just some pictures from his facebook or seomthing

He's just a comedian

Literally who

>be red-pilled
>go to film school
>lift
He is the alpha of the betas, the only hope for the uprising.

That's a really strange definition of what the right is. Isn't it also true that the left is whatever the right is not. i.e the right is elitist and the left is not elitist.

And while there is a world of difference between Milo and Sam Hyde (I've never heard of anyone called McInnes; I try not to devote too much of my life to this memery bullshit) they have enough in common to put them under the same term. There is a world of difference between James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway, yet we call them both modernists, don't we?

Who's the woman? A fan?

Who cares?

I care, partner. You got a fuckin' problem with that, buddy-o?

>be raised a millenial in middle class household
>Fed fanciful lies growing up you are amazing and can do anything you want without facing any real hardship
>Be a fucking worm of a person with no will to will (leading to obcessive interests in steampunk and Dr Who)
>Do graphic design degree in the belief it means shit
>As years go by, your optimisim and Ignorance is shattered as you finally come to terms with the malaise of modernity
>Come to the realisation you are merely the ghost of a war not fought
>Accept the meme

The reason the right must be defined negatively (as what it is not rather than what it is) is because the trend for a long time now has been towards an egalitarianism/leftism. What has happened is that previously left-win ideologies (Nat Soc for example) are viewed as right-wing ideologies because the baseline has shifted. All of the left wing basically agrees on the direction to which they wish to move (egalitarianism) whereas the right-wing is in conflict with itself because it is only characterized by what the left-wing is not. Normally you can say right-wing = hierarchy but you run into some problems with that when you consider the various nationalnsocialist movements.

True we do both call them modernists but I think it's somewhat difficult to pin down what it means to be a modernist, I'd have to think about that. Also what it means to be a post modernist.

>left is whatever the right is not. i.e the right is elitist and the left is not elitist.
No, the "left" (or whatever is called left now a days) did not choose its principles arbitrarily. They were originally pulled from the doctrine of natural law. Read the Declaration of Independence or The Constitution for reference. These things had a source and reasoning behind them before identity politics got a hold and made a mockery of them.

But national socialists are mostly leftist. After all, most of their ideological theory came from german socialists before them.

>for a long time
>like fifty years max
>like ten at a conservative estimate

Not true btw

>that pic
people take memes seriously in their offline, irl lives?
ISHYGDDT

But it is. After all, that is why most of the socialist party joined the national socialists so easily.

So the trend from monarchy to democracy is not a trend towards egalitarianism?
Now you're starting to sound like a reactionary. To most, Nat soc is right-wing extremism even though it might once have been considered leftist. It shows this trend towards believing that anything that isn't far enough left for that day in age = right

>Now you're starting to sound like a reactionary.
Unless Hayek is a reactionary, sure.
I'm aware that most will see it as left wing, but it is largely analogus to the Soviets.

>I base my worldview unironically on infotainment tv and twitter

Does he enjoy farts?

The real question is if he will keep gettin away with it

So he went to art school, couldn't get a job, and now regurgitates /pol/ memes to pissed off beta males on the internet?

Not if Blockhead Joe has his way

I love how after years and years of playing this irreverent absurdist persona, Tim Heidecker finally cracked because people kept calling him "cuck".

youtube.com/watch?v=p978u4r-q4c

Watch this vid and you'll understand Hyde

He calls himself the Alpha Beta male, his characterisation of this generations zeitgeist comes from his place of being a loser of (post)modernity resonates with many others who also feel the malaise. The only people irritated by his views are those invested in the myth of "progressivism", "liberalism", "universalism" etc

>10K on bicycles and batman

Fuck you Sam

Chuck always looks like a psycho

I bet Charles keeps a copy of Kaczynski's Manifesto by his bedside.
