Why do so many dumb ass men think this?
I know historically why (novels=amusement for women, men read Serious things like books on the four humors), but why are men today so proud to proclaim this?
read fiction in autre langage
To me fiction more so feels like a waste of time, I prefer reading book where I learn although the last I read was Blood Merdian and I loved that but I have no interest in being cultured by literature, I'll remain a rube for the rest of my days.
Yee haw
Why do you think you can only learn through non-fiction? And anyway books are historical artifacts and primary sources.
You learn just as much if not more reading and studying Shakespeare about Elizabethan England/the world at the time as you do if you just read strictly non-fiction about the period.
Sure I can learn new words and historical things from fiction - I have - but mostly I prefer a book related to a subject I want to learn about.
Id say 1 out of every ten books I read is a fiction.
I'm reading the bible now as it's all fiction hahaha *tips*. But seriously, I'll be here for a while.
>tfw too intelligent to read
>implying I have an interest in that time period
>implying we wernt FORCED to read Willy for school anyway
>not understanding examples
idc about mostly reading non-fiction, but I find it funny the dismissal of fiction many men posture with
You keep writing 'many men.'
Are you a roasty?
>dfw btfo
idk what that means
but I've never seen any women say they only read non-fiction, and as mentioned there's historical precedent for men's attitudes towards fiction
>not knowing what roastie means
