Do you worry for this man's wellbeing?

Elon Musk is a serious contender for the most prolific man of the 21st century, and you can't do that without making some enemies.

Make amazing vehicles
>piss off automobile industry

Make solar rooftops, cheap solar panels, and most advanced battery storage to date
>piss off entire energy industry

Make worldwide, low latency, 1TB/s, FREE internet available to everyone
>piss off entire communications industry

He's changing the game forever, and there will be many billionaires who will be affected by this. I hope that Elon isn't sabotaged or worse. I would volunteer to be a member of his security force, or a COINTELPRO agent if needed - ANYTHING as long as Elon and his vision remain safe.

>Muskposting

Remember only [math] you [/math] can prevent cancerous posts.

>Elon Musk
>""""changing the game""""

I wouldn't count throwing random ideas at his workers "changing the world".

Telsa is a failure, commercially and technically.
SolarCity is a good idea but is much more expensive than union-made solar panels. Musk is also a sore loser in business : vox.com/2016/2/3/10905624/utilities-rooftop-solar-storage
SpaceX is about an industry that should never have been made for profit in the first place, and see its rockets exploding.

Not counting his shitty labour practices, his crazy talks about "muh simulation theory" and his obssession with Mars which is definitively not to make you give him money on a fairy tale.

I respect the man and his success. But I don't like the cult he's build, and I don't think his success are legitimate.

We all wish we could be him.

In a perfect world, everyone would be born Elon.

he's just a glorified VC/startup/investor. some redeeming qualities but he's not a fucking expert on anything.

How sad is it that if you make an industry angry enough with progress you have to worry about being assassinated

>Make worldwide, low latency, 1TB/s, FREE internet available to everyone
source?

SpaceX new ebin project of giving satellite-based internet, don't have the link

Of course he doesn't do it out of kindness of his heart, he does it because he "needs money for Mars"

>Make vehicles with shit build quality, no range in the cold, and shit lifespan
People worship Tesla for "saving the car"

>latest stick solar on everything fad entry
People worship Musk for bringin those solar fuhrikken roadways to your roof

>Make worldwide, low latency, 1TB/s, FREE internet available to everyone
Where?

>He's changing the game forever
He's throwing money at whatever crosses his mind, which is okay, and spouting inane popscience retardation at every chance, which is obnoxious.

Oh gee whiz I sure do love me some latency.

>latency
Musk's satellites will be 700 miles above the earth, compared to the 22,300 mile distance of a regular geostationary satellite. You'll get 1GB internet with 26ms latency anywhere in the world. For free.

Care to elaborate why Tesla is a failure, also SpaceX for profit? I was unaware, I mean I'm sure it makes money, I would have assumed he invests it all back into r&d or other SpaceX related things.

don't mind him, he's shitposting

>Tesla is a failure
Making overpriced cars do basic things is no what I'd call success. Commercially, it's also not doing very well.
marketwatch.com/story/teslas-model-x-is-fast-and-flawed-consumer-reports-says-2016-11-25

>SpaceX is for profit
It's a private society. Their goal is the profit motive, which by the way partly explains why they have rockets which explode (this is what happens when you cut too much corners).

If you're going to have a firm living off entirely of government money, why not just nationalise it ?

>Do I a poor Black educated male worry for a billionaire? Let me think about this for a millisecond...
Hell fuck nah!!!

If Elon succeeds and revolutionizes space travel and colonization then you and every black person can have your own Planet Afrika

It doesn't help that he appears to be a pretty terrible person, one that I wouldn't like very much.

With that said, I admire his vision and wouldn't really appreciate if he was killed by (((them))).

And who are you?

Elon has an all encompassing systems view, and first-principles based thinking. This is not only incredibly unique in today's world, but it's what allowed him such great success. Either way you slice it, the man is a billionaire and has the best intentions in mind for humanity.

Although he's focusing on solutions to problems by conducting his own enterprise (in a very hermitesque way), he does seem to ignore the current issue discussion, but only because he's one of the few brave enough to take the risk of inciting change.

Saying someone has a cult following is inane. When ideologies drastically shift and the disconnect between them becomes more noticeable then it's not nessessarily a beginning of some incredibly ridiculous covenant.

His ambition for getting to Mars, in my opinion, is his way of emulating the era of lunar exploration where we had massive global growth. His vision of free 1tb connected internet expands on that, as there's so much knowledge at our disposal and yet we keep regressing as a species.

I feel as if it's up to us to look back, realize that it was the ideals and values that moved us foward, rather than the innovations. One simply leads to the next.

Sorry for the blog

If you're at the point where you'd be assassinated then you're either doing too much for the world, or taking steps in a negative direction and hindering it.

Elon only qualifies for one of those. If he gets assassinated before a breakthrough we probably don't deserve it anyways.

>for the most prolific man of the 21st century,

What an innovative way to spell "the ultimate welfare leech of 21st century"

The guy is literally incapable of maintaining a company for more than a couple years without having to suck mad cock for billions of subsidies. The literal only reason he even bothers with "green energy" is because he can ride the global warming cash train for free

do people actually believe this, or is it a form of trolling?

I think they actually believe it. When you ask them to prove it, they tend to cite infowars and other bullshit.

are they bitter because they'll never be significant, or envious of Elon, his life, and accomplishments? Are the STEM fields filled with people like that whose lack of potential causes them to lash out at the successful people? I wonder how much further science would be if those negative people didn't exist.

Actually, your Elon ball-fondling just then is a prime example of why people disdain him, though really it has more to do with you cocksuckers

Redditors like you unironically turn him into a Messiah because it's a the hip way to signal progressivism and "love of science" to your idiot friends

people who are actually interested in the actual things that Elon Musk (and his company of however many engineers, who seem to be left out of the Musk dick-sucking sessions because they're not sexy enough) are 1.) electrical engineers and 2.) don't parrot idiotic platitudes like "You'll get 1GB internet with 26ms latency anywhere in the world. For free."

me

Network engi here.
>Cheap 1TB/s for everyone

Maybe once you can replace your crushes bf's childhood memories with a boot prompt for an Industrial Paintmixer.

As it stands 70% of data centers don't even have that kind of thruput. How do you expect to give literal city sized thruputs to everyone in the city. Without doing the math at all I'd even call bs at 1GB/s on any current architecture not existing in Europe (maybe) or S.K/JP.

Musk is a billionaire based on future earnings of his companies
His assets and everything else is worthless if they don't materialize

nice bait

but he go mars.. BOOM BOOM satellite?? world wide. MAN ON MARS! MAN ON MARS! SPACE_X (X like in scifi) He's so smar.t
iq god ELON !

Elon Musk is a state capitalist, none of our cadre of government employees are willing to kill or injure each other yet.

Tesla and other auto manufacturers receive government stimuli to maintain production and research.

Solar is heavily subsidized despite no major plans to replace any major portion of home energy sources.

Internet was developed by the government and they are making sure everyone can use it to sell more shit.

I hate this smug piece of shit. He should have been hired by the government and made a manager of projects like this but instead he can make billions from being a science guru and a federal employee. They're all a bunch of frauds.

>93% success rate
>failure
pick one

SpaceX is at the industry average for successful rockets.

Look I'll even cite my sources unlike you

blogs.scientificamerican.com/life-unbounded/rocket-launches-are-surprisingly-successful/

Melon Husk hasn't done anything good. The guy is a complete loser. Give me a fucking break.

SpaceX doesn't make a profit because profit isn't why he made SpaceX.

There is no reason why he couldn't just focus on launching satellites like other companies. But he wants to innovate and go to Mars, that costs money. If he wanted he could turn a profit tomorrow.

Tesla is already making a profit. And his factory is good for 4k jobs.

Not a bait. I actually dislike Musk and he's a fraud, mostly because how he treats his workers.

how do you make those bendy letters?

>Not a bait. I actually dislike Musk, mostly because I'll never amount to anything

This world not only needs people who can do stuff, but also people who can make youngsters want to work hard to become good.

There's so much envy in this thread, calling a millionaire and potential billionaire a loser, saying he amounts to nothing. If he is so worthless why isn't he shitposting on Veeky Forums like all the multimillionaire entrepreneurs here?

You will probably only have to worry about it if you have the social capital to make a difference. Even if you have the technical abilities that does not ensure that your stuff is going to be used : you need to gain ground socially too.

And if you are of promising descent you are probably point marked by a surveillance service from birth anyway so you literally have zero chance getting away with anything the overlords don't want you to.

It's not about me. It's about about this crazy cult he has that is annoying as fuck and enabling shitty labour practises.

>Oh please my Lord and saviour Musk please led me to Mars aaah

This is !Veeky Forums material.
This is /pol/ material

Yyes it's a bit crazy but at least it makes the kids enthusiastic to work hard to get good, that's the most important part.

>it makes the kids enthusiastic to work hard to get good,
Which makes totally unacceptable things, like how Telsa is the one car manufactor in the US without a union, seem acceptable.

Unions in the USA never got popular, did they? And even if they did they'd be infiltrated and owned until they gave up or became alcoholics (or both).

nobody cares faggot

Even if Unions are somewhat not popular, the man still deprives his workers of the benefits of collective bargaining.

Not to mention that he has in the past fired thousands of SpaceX employees on a whim, or how people there works infernal cadences for "SCIENCE!!".

We work to live, we don't live to work.

and yet everyone in STEM wants to work for him. working long hours or without collective bargaining is a small sacrifice when you consider that your efforts are helping to further the entire human race and the colonization of distant planets

hell be fine

That sounds like a load of bullshit and I'm the kind of guy that looks up to Musk

>Tesla is already making a profit
After receiving about ~$5B in subsidies and grants from the government.

Then why don't you work in a Chinese sweatshop?
Working long hours or without collective bargaining is a small sacrifice when you consider that your efforts are helping further the human race economically by producing goods for those in need and bringing everyone else to a higher standard of living.

>pass of automobile industry
Toyota had EVs since the 90s. Tesla's market share is laughable. The big automotives are already selling EVs, more than Tesla in fact.

>piss of energy industry
>most advanced battery to date
Yeah SolarCity just manufacturers and installs solar panels. They're not a revolutionary company. The PowerWall is a giant lithium battery. If you want to really credit it's creator look up Goodenough.

>make worldwide 1TB/s low latency Internet available to everyone
As a networking guy I can tell you this is hilariously stupid. The cell towers you need to get wide area coverage costs money to maintain.

No one is denying he's rich. We're denying he's doing anything more than making money.

Its almost as if people in STEM want to work with something that interest them.
Hell, i'l take an exiting job making a bit less than a booring as fuck job making more.

nice false equivalency broheim. take the night off, gather yourself in the morning, and come back when you've got something to contribute to the thread

t. elon

>le quirky multimillionare maymay

you guys seriously think this faggot is going to take us to mars? leave this to NASA

>""""changing the game""""
Is this quadruple quotations a new type of echo?

>you guys seriously think this faggot is going to take us to mars? leave this to NASA
People jumped in the hype train, so yeah, they believe it. Of course, in reality it is highly unlikely that we will have a Moon colony before 2050, never mind a Mars one.

>leave this to NASA
laughing irl at you. the government doesn't do anything anymore, all results come from government contractors like Elon.

with the power of [math]math[/math]

No it's meant to imply an even greater degree of sarcasm than a normal quotation

Elonfags are looking for saviors.

My protip for you: they don't exist.

> Elon turns otherwise wasteful green energy budgets into viable production economies for US future
> Ultimate leech

Come on mate, I wish we had some cunt like that here in Aus that could actually implement a vision - we could be lining the outback with solar

Reminder that Australian rooftop solar installed is like half the cost compared to the US.

Sure... they've only invented most technology we use today.

Musk might make a few fancy gadgets, but no one will be able to afford them and he won't be able to change overall trends.

He's also not going to Mars. Look how much money it took to get us to the Moon.

>money

spacex is drastically reducing the cost of getting to space. that chart doesn't mean anything in relation to spacex.

I dont understand why people get so ass-blasted and are so critical and envious of other people's success. I mean, what is your largely personal criticism going to accomplish? Nothing

>limited cargo space
>rear door hinges prone to pausing and malfunctioning
>no back seat folding

Wow this is, without a doubt, indicative of absolute failure as a company. Where will people put their Costco groceries now?

The biggest problem of Musk are his cock-sucking supporters over the internet who are unaware of the fact that they are making him into the meme. Shitposters and fake haters also catch up the idea and make him even a bigger meme.

Let this guy do whatever he wants with his money. If he makes profit and acomplishes something significant it will be good for him and for us. If not - too bad.

Lol and what does being a fanboy accomplish exactly?

>musk threads
youtu.be/qU7FuAswPW0

This, the only thing retards on the internet could do is drag him down.

Wait till he's dead and if he actually accomplishes anything significant THEN you faggots can use it to pretend you are smarter than everyone else for believing in him "before it was cool".

>envious of other people's success
>what is your largely personal criticism going to accomplish?
Telling people that he is not a game changer, merely adapting technologies given by NASA and decades of public funding.

And yes, I'm pretty butthurt space exploration is left to megalomaniac and man-children for profit. This should be a public enterprise.

This proves that these cars are not worth 135,000$ you drone

>This should be a public enterprise
socialist git ye gone
