Beat the house

Is there a mathematical objective way to beat the house?

No because by county law the casino is allowed to pay only 33% of all money used in 24h on a table or machine which makes it rigged from the get go.
Dont be stupid and waste time and money.

Depends on the game.

Beating blackjack is known. Beating poker is impossible--the house takes no risk. Scientists have used secret laser measurements to cheat at roulette and beat the house. Depends on the game.

Cheat.

If there is why would anyone tell Veeky Forums?

Counting cards, but they'll throw you out if they suspect you're doing it (i.e. if you win too much).

So what if you win moderately every day?

Don't play

There was a case of a mathematician who was keeping an internal note of every card dealt on the table and essnetially counted cards against the house. He won several times, racking up a lot of the casino's chips in the process. He did so well that the casinos reported him to the police and he was prosecuted. However, the judge threw the case out because no external cheating aids/devices were used. He was just really good at the game. Didn't stop them from dishing out a lifetime ban from any casino in Las Vegas and threatening him with the heavies.

All other games are balanced in favour of the house. The games have been set up so that the house will objectively end up making a profit in the end.

Then they'd eventually catch on. But if you went to a different casino every day, then you could probably get away with it for a while.

I assume this means poker on one of those machines?

Beating actual poker in the card room is very beatable. Especially 1/2 where you're playing against the droolers

The only game that could be beatable is blackjack. You can count the cards that have been used and won't be used again until a reshuffle, and use this information to make appropriate bets. But a lot of casinos now reshuffle a blackjack deck continously while it's played.

You can try and use bet arbitrage although it's basically pointless.
Average returns are something like 5% of your stake, it rarely occurs and it requires quite rapid action by the gambler where a single mistake can fuck up more than 20 times what you might have won. Not to mention betting agencies can collaborate a bit and find gamblers using bet arbitrage

I mean poker. Yes you can beat other players, but you cannot beat the house, because the house isn't playing. It's simply taking a cut of the pot.

you have to remember that the casinos aren't stupid. They know how many people should beat the system with the rules they employ so if someone deviates from the norm and wins much more than they should they will be all over you. Even if they cant prove you did anything wrong, if you win too much they will ban you from the casino. if you are notorious enough they will put you in the black book, or the casino blacklist.

if you want to win a lot you have to do so inconspicuously and at small intervals in a lot of casinos. Then hopefully you're higher than average numbers will be looked at as more of a coincidence than cheating the system.

your* damn typos

Bet on red and double bet if you lose. Once you hit red, you're positive, leave and never return. I am net positive in all Vegas casinos by playing roulette only. Bring enough money to account for many blacks and greens in a row otherwise you're Sol.

This. Win like 10 games each at like 3 different casinos and call it a night. Then go to a different set of 3 casinos next month and do the same thing. Third month go back to the casino set from the first month and bet your winnings again when they've forgotten your face. Do the same with the second month casinos in the fourth month. Rinse and repeat amd adjust casino count for as long as you need, just don't overdo the winning in any one casino. Also possibly wear different outfits throughout your winnings night.

No.

Blackjack is the only one that's "beatable" and just barely. Maybe .2 in your favor and only if you play through the entire shoe.

This doesn't work if there is a limit to how much you can put down as a single bet. Which there almost invariably is. Once your "double again if you lose" amount crosses this threshold you're boned.

Yes. By not betting in the first place.

this

>Bet on red and double bet if you lose.
That's dumb.

>Is there a mathematical objective way to beat the house?

yes.

risky though.

>there are people who still play martingale systems

Oh I see, my mistake. Depending on where you play, some card rooms rake an obscene amount. To the point where you have to have a pretty big edge to be profitable in those games.

Use your fists.

There was a high roller who took advantage of the comps in Atlantic City and took them to comical extremes in order to give himself a 52% chance of winning. He was already a practiced blackjack player and he did it at the height of the recession. Unlike Vegas Atlantic City was hurting much harder and he calculated how much each little tiny advantage he added would tip the scale. It's the sort of thing that Vegas would've caught immediately but those poor bastards at AC didn't.

Card counting in blackjack used to work, which is why casinos would ban people who did it, but with the advent of five deck automated shuffling, card counting is practically impossible.
The only 100% guaranteed way to beat the house is to own the house.

>Every other game is rigged on favor of the house
>If you win on the one game that's not fucking you over, you get banned
Why do people go to casinos again?

take away his vicodin

There's the occasional idiot who thinks he can actually win but mostly it's for the "fun." They always start regretting it after you ask them how much they made and then they realize they just lost 10 grand in a single weekend.

>They always...just lost 10 grand in a single weekend.

Eh? I know it's nice to feel above it all ALL the time, but sometimes people spend a couple hundred for a weekend at a casino which includes free drinks, etc etc. It's not just retards burning hundred dollar bills

I ain't the guy shitting on people who gamble, but I've always wondered what it was like to like winning more than you hate losing.

gambling is a legit rush
