For one thing, no one knows what the full ramifications are when you manipulate a particular gene in a lab and spread it throughout the food supply. There are already indications it corrupts non-GMO products. Which is why Monsanto recently settled a lawsuit for 750 milillion to farmers unable to export their non-GMO crops. This isn't the case with hybrids developed with Mendelian selection.
Also, are you really comfortable with a huge welfare subsidized agri-corporations controlling your entire food supply by patenting the process of growing specific commodities? Don't be fooled.
