my diary desu

History books on the history of Western civilization, seeing how far we've fallen

It's okay Greek-bro.

I'm American

never let me go.
the virgin suicides.
journey to the end of night.
the once and future king.

Probably Hunger by Knut Hamsun. Tremendously disturbing to read the protagonist's soul brutally crushed into the dust.

Semi-related, but reading about atrocities in history usually makes me sad

A Pale View of Hills
Nothing to Envy

Heart of Darkness was pretty depressing

Death in Midsummer

this

Blindness by Saramago. I couldn't keep reading it. The sad things is, he's right about humanity.

Rand and Egwene's relationship in WoT is genuinely sad. Especially when you consider how much they loved each other in the beginning to what it ends up being.

I was pretty depressed for a while after finishing the series because I thought about it too much

story of heracles, I even remember crying when I read it for the first time

Poor Folk by Dostoyevsky, I nearly cried when he was talking about standing in front of his boss after he forgot a line in the document and his last button fell off.

The Dead

Mr self sabotage could have just stopped being a retard. I thought notes from the underground was harder, especially the last chapter.

lmao

my diary, desu

grapes of wrath

The Idiot and Don Quixote.
