I'm going to be brutally honest here:
She knows more than your average Joe, but that isn't hard. I'm sure she's intelligent, confident and a wonderful application to popsci (introducing more people to STEM).
However, two issues:
She has too much of a chip on her shoulder for being a 'woman physicist' and it simply makes her and her gender look petty.
Popsci is an issue, because it requires the over simplification of phenomena for the layman. Which in turn, creates a disingenuous understanding of science on their behalf. These people then take to social networking sites and act like experts after having watched a couple of minutes of diluted popular science. Yet, if they were to attempt to take a hard-lined university level course in the same subject? They'd be blown out of the water.
I think popsci has its place, though, those using it for anything more than infotainment should remember that these publications ARE NOT rigorous.
