What do you add to your oatmeal? I've been eating it just plain because anything I add to it has just made it worse. I made overnight oats with some Greek yogurt and added some cinnamon and it was pretty nasty.

Ratios?
I eat a lot of oatmeal in the colder months. I use the minute oats sold in the large canisters and cook them in the microwave.
Mix dry, rolled oats with milk, dried fruit X, nut/seed Y, a very lite pinch of salt and a little sugar.
Nuke until bubbling.
Stir and re-nuke until warmed through and thick.
If using syrup (instead of sugar), add it just before eating.
Here are some of the variations I eat most commonly:
cantaloupe and toasted pumpkin kernels (my favourite)
blueberries, slivered almonds, vanilla-sugar
cherries, crushed skinned hazelnuts and instant hot cocoa mix (in place of sugar)
raisins, skinned walnuts and cinnamon-sugar
prunes, skinned walnuts and lemon-sugar
cranberries, pecans and maple syrup (instead of sugar)
apricots, crushed toasted almonds and orgeat syrup (instead of sugar)
mango, macadamia and lite coconut milk (instead of dairy milk)
