I'm a full-time student with a part-time job, so it's not easy prepping and cooking something extravagant, especially if it requires a LOT of cleaning up afterwards

Is your spaghetti sauce anything special? I haven't made my own sauce before.

herbed chicken breast in butter with rice and peas
ground turkey cutlets with assorted veg
tacos/burritos with beef, chicken or pork, and refritos, served with toppings
hamburgers and broccoli with ketchup
porkchops and pasta with a green salad
actually I make a salad about every night
pancakes or waffles or biscuits with eggs and bacon, sausage and fruit

How do you season your taco and burrito meat? My parents got me hooked on that shitty prepackaged stuff and I'm ready for a change.
Ryan Collins
its the same stuff as what's in the package with a lot less salt.
I use some basic salsa for a sofrito, cumin, oregano, garlic, chile powder(ancho for mild, chipotle for more hot) and simmer it all for 30 minutes before thickening with flour or masa

Sudent life >roasted tomatoes, Onions and garlic >Red bell peppers, squash >thyme salt and any other random herb I happen to have All to the blender >Eat with bread, pepper and olive oil
If I am lucky >Steak with garlic and rosemary >Mushrooms, onions and red bell peppers
If I am really lucky >Blend spring onions, half a habanero, ginger, garlic, olive oil, cummin and coriander to make a paste >put some in a pan >Put some meat in the pan >onions and chopped tomatoes in another pan >put both together >add turmeric and milk (I can't find any cooking coconut milk) >add more random herbs and cinnamon to make it look like I know what I am doing

>Everyone has their go to recipes that they make almost every week.
When I cook I like to make the effort worth it so I usually make one big meal and eat leftovers for a week, and I always make just about everything from scratch; the sauces, spice rubs, sometimes even the bread....
but my go to are:
>sweet and spicy turkey chili (usually eaten as chili dogs) >sage and thyme boneless pork chops with herb roasted potatoes and cabbage >bbq baby back ribs >bbq pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw >spagetti squash lasagna >pizza (usually make it to get rid of whatever is about to go bad in my fridge) >shrimp gumbo >shrimp fried rice >greek tacos >chicken fajitas
Carter Hall
Oh.. and turkey burgers.
I fucking love ground turkey, especially for burgers. It's so much juicier, doesn't turn into hard little pebbles, and it soaks up the flavors of whatever spices you have on it better. Plus red meat makes me feel kinda weird and sick after I eat it.
Joshua Murphy
So when you're lucky you make a weird curry with just tomatoes and onions?
Carson Kelly
Chilli Powder Some salt Ground Pepper Parsley Garlic powder if I don't have actual garlic

>red meat makes me feel kinda weird and sick after I eat it
You may have a sensitivity to the sugars that are in red meat. I had the same sensation for a while until I varied the meats I had throughout the week. I lean more favorably towards turkey, chicken, and fish, but the occasional steak/burger/etc. doesn't make me feel "blah" anymore

When too lazy to do actual cooking >ranch pasta (literally plain pasta with ranch dressing, don't knock it until you tried it) >always keep a box of hot pockets/eggos/bagels/frozen-just-throw-in-toaster meals for when i'm at serious levels of lazy and/or high >baked potato. 3 minutes to prep and then dick around for an hour while the oven does the work. top with creme fraiche and some green onions/chives/rosemary
When I am in a culinary mood (80% of the time) >roasted chicken and potatoes, with mirepoix and shit tons of garlic to make a pan sauce >garlic with a bit of carbonara in it (dubbed garlic-nara by the gf) >typical spaghetti with meat sauce from scratch. served with garlic bread >Bratwurst and potatoes. german dish sometimes with saurkraut, sometimes with a brown sugar butter sauce. >motherfucking steaks/chops (beef/veal/pork/lamb/venison). stupid easy and fast. typically with asparagus from the garden and a potato.
Everything with whole milk. whole milk is fucking delicious. Salad is always the first course. I have a book of salad recipes and my goal is to try all of them at least once and have tabs on the favorites. I'd say my weekly food budget can be anywhere $50-$100 for two people. I've done my time of $40/month rice and beans on a cardboard box turn-into-table.

Could be. I get a weird chest/heart flutter and feel anxious and nervous like I had drank an energy drink or a shot of caffeine or something.
It wouldn't stand in my way of occasionally having a nice steak though.. but at the moment the ridiculous prices for them do.
Jaxson Gonzalez
taco seasoning without cumin is impossible. try harder
Blake Martinez
you may not have been aware, friend, that a little noticed Executive Order signed by Glorious Herr Doktor Leaderiamus Trumpf on his first day, reversed the long standing illegal Obama Kenyan Muslin law that forbid anything other than taco seasoned taco meat in a taco as HARAM, and we are all now free to put anything we want inside a folded tortilla and still call it a taco, instead of being sent to FEMA camps as before.
Anthony Robinson
this
some people are fucking retarded
it's like italian seasoning without oregano.. wtf are you doing with your life?

I am a student and this is pretty much what my dinners consist of: >chicken tikka masala with rice and nanbread >beef and potatoes >salmon and potatoes >meatballs and mashed potatoes >tacos >frozen pizza >chicken and rice >pasta carbonara >pasta with tomato sauce and minced meat >chili with rice and tortillas/nachos >wok with chicken, peppers, onion and broccoli over rice or noodles >burgers and fries, either homemade or bought from a burger place >omelette with fried diced potatoes, onions and ham
That's all my go to recipes, rarely do I make something other than this. For the rest of the day I eat bread and smoothies, and also usually have two dinners in a day.
Nathan Watson
>Oatmeal with cinnamon and oatmeal >Omelette with bacon, cheese and chives >Baked sweetpotato with random fillings >Burgers tex-mex style >French toast and bacon >Bacon and cheese paninis >Cottage cheese and chive crackers They're all pretty convenient to throw together, I prefer simple cooking.
Easton Flores
>potatoes o'brien >spaetzle with sausage >chicken or beef stir fry (just made for dinner) >bagel and lox

Leaf college student, my weekly meals consist of: >french toast + fried banana w/ maple syrup >Kraft Dinner + beans, sausage, + chili powder >[Pasta I bought this week] + marinara sauce >[pasta] + mushroom soup sauce >rice + chicken breast >boiled perogies + garlic sausage
I'm lazy as shit so I usually just make one of these meals a day, and save half for later.
