Every Physicist is a mathematician but not every mathematician is a Physicist. Thus a physicist is the lord of all

Every Physicist is a mathematician but not every mathematician is a Physicist. Thus a physicist is the lord of all.

This can be empirically observed with intelligence testing.

>every physicist is a mathematician
lmao no they're not

Yes, they are. This is basic logic, so it is expected that basic people like you struggle with it.

>This is basic logic, so it is expected that basic people like you struggle with it.
Wouldn't that imply that I would grasp it? If the logic is simple, and I am simple?

Did a mathematician fuck your wife?

physics is just another overrated maymay

I have to know that because I studied it and got a M.Sc. Worst decision ever.

>[math]\mathrm dx[/math] is a tiny bit of [math]x[/math]
>assume every function is of class [math]\mathscr C^\infty[/math]
>LOOK AT ME MATHEMATICIANS I'M ONE OF U NAO XDDD

So you expect us to take your word for it in anonymous board, don't you?

This means you are fucking retarded and too lazy to give more data.

>This means you are fucking retarded and too lazy to give more data

My university was in northern Germany and my field of studies was quantum optics. Even though I got good grades all the time, no one wanted to give me a physics related job. Now I'm working as a fucking PHP developer and planning to kill myself.

what else do you want to know?

Thanks. I want to know how did we go from which one is smarter to a job problems conversation. I wouldn't call you a physicist if you want to prove that a physics degree is overrated by being retarded on the internet. My interest is to differentiate those who in their free time decide to study math or physics.

Weird how accurate that thing is for me. I fall in the "engineering - other" field and my IQ is 128

As a math+cs student I want make fun of you and/or invalidate your point but my combinatorics professor and head of our math department who is notoriously a math purist has said :

>You can teach a physicist rigour quickly but it takes a while to teach some mathematicians physics.

>As a math+cs student I want make fun of you
;-;

What a useless statement. Physics is a huge field and rigour is not.

You are fucking retarded for saying this.

Why? They use mathematics all the time so why would it be difficult for them to learn how to be rigorous with it?

Seeing people not understanding other peoples fields is so funny to an outsider.

>let me just multiply both sides with [math] \mathrm{d} x [/math]

>what is non standard analysis

What are you doing on sci, seriously?

>I have an M.Sc in quantum optics
>pls giv job

Fucking lol dude, you know when faglords on Veeky Forums talk about "overspecialisation" you're the person they're talking about.

>Be me
>M.Sc in theoretical physics
>92k starting

Also sage, because this thread is cancer.

>modern mathematicians actually believe in infinitesimals and continuous spaces

>>M.Sc in theoretical physics
k starting

Threads like this should be a banable offense desu

Math is just logic an logic is philosophy.

>This can be empirically observed with intelligence testing.

Most physicists can't do math, and this is coming from a person who knows John Baez personally. Stop pretending.

>physicists are mathematicians
top kek

If you are a mathematician then to be a physicst you have to take every bit of knowledge you have in n-dimensions and then set n=3

If you want to be a modern physicst then set n=11 and add some memes.

>believing in the IQ meme
heh

So many engineers and physicists on this board with over inflated ego. No wonder people here say stupid shit like a mechanical engineer can program better than some guy with a SE degree.

If logic were philosophy then they would actually be able to prove their shit.

As it stands if you undeniably prove your claim with no room for dialectic then you are a mathematician, not a philosopher

Something every physicist has heard of, and invokes to justify their calculations, but has never actually learned about in any detail?

I've been studying math for 2 semesters now and while it's both challenging and interesting, I think I'd enjoy studying physics more. Is it true that it's a breadless profession? I'm german if that helps.

And what makes you think the entirety of philosophy is dialectic?

I've only ever had the exact opposite experience. Mathematicians tend to pick up physics fairly easily (especially more advanced physics because at that point it's essentially applied maths), but physicists tend to struggle with the idea that you can't just wave your hands and say "close enough" when it comes to maths.

>you can't just wave your hands and say "close enough" when it comes to maths.

>Hey guys. Now we are going to introduce you to the concept that is the groundwork for mathematical analysis and therefore is the single most important building block in all of the modern mathematics: LIMITS. The rigorous way of saying CLOSE ENOUGH QED.

Either you don't understand limits or you're being deliberately obtuse.

Guy you're replying to here

Personally I think both pick up the other easily and this thread is a classic case of the phenomenom where similars repels.

For example terran players and protoss players hate each other even though they are both Starcraft players and hence have more in common to each other than to a random person. Same for Sunni vs Shiite, Protestant vs Catholic, Democrat vs Republic, and a million other cases.

The solution is to stop caring about identity politics and stop giving news corporations and OPs free views and replies
