Is he even as good as they say? I feel like I'm going to be disappointed.

Yes, hes not as good as they say, but even so it is worth to read some of his books. The style can get pretty simple sometimes, but the substance and creativity are enough redeemable qualities to respect his work. Also, he was -and is- one of the biggest inspirations of writers in the genre. (King, Barker) just to name some examples. Give him a try user.

Alright. Thanks man

The correct answer is the Shadow Over Innsmouth

they are all so short, it dosent make a difference tbqh

>Shadow Over Innsmouth

Correct!

>It's a monster of the week episode.
Blech!

the Necronomicon is good in the way it has so many stories, but damn it's heavy

I started with The Colour Out of Space and fell in love immediately.
The Shadow Out of Time and The Shunned House are other favorites.

First time on Veeky Forums here, but I stopped by cause I'm just getting into a complete H.P. Lovecraft Collection. I've read into a few (Alchemist to name one).

Anyone checked out The Phenomenon that redditor (inb4 plebbit), had been working on? He's trying to get it published but his main inspiration is a dream he had and Lovecraft for anyone interested.

u should lift

The Rats in the Walls is a great short story by Lovecraft. Ties into the Cthulhu mythos as well.

Lovecraft its the most autistic writer of all time, and you're autistic if you read him.

Especially you, Santa

>The Shadow Out of Time
This. My first Lovecraft reading and still my favorite.

Necronomicon has all of these you morons

>Which Lovecraft novel should I make my first one?
Do you even read?

Why pick them up separately? Just get this one book and you are good to go on Lovecraft

Start with "On the Creation of Niggers"
