I've just bought Deleuze's Nietzsche & Philosophy. What am I in for?

have you read any of nietzsche's? are you accustomed with kant? do you have an idea of the influence of heidegger and phenomenology on the contemporary french thought of the time? have you read hegel and kojève's readings of hegel? if yes to all you are in for a treat, if no it will most likely be puzzling for you, or at least you won't be able to understand the groundbreaking aspects of the revival of nietzsche in early sixties france

also you should at least have a rough idea about bergson and spinoza contra kant and descartes

Thanks for outlining the requirements to fully comprehend the book, I'll dive in and if I get too confused or whatever I'll get on those requirements.

it's a lovely book of philosophy, i hope you will enjoy it

>Deleuze
>Reading French psychoanalytic hacks
>Ever

Sadly Nietzsche has a lot of these fucks riding on his coattails. Take Foucault, for example: he wrote an entire book based mainly on Nietzsche's usage of a few interchangeable German words, on the misguided belief that Nietzsche wasn't using them interchangeably.

Pity France for trying so hard to remain intellectually relevant since the Enlightenment.

which exactly are these interchangeable german words, Herr Professor?

this was heartwarming.

>have you read hegel and kojève's readings of hegel?
>Hegel's reading of Hegel

What an arrogant fuck, reading his own work.

He was constantly revising the Logic, up until his death.

Of course, he wrote his works in like 5 minutes as per the time constraints of his contract.

Hearty kek.

>sadly
>riding coattails
>misguided
>pity

Why do you people need to make so many FUCKING threads about Nietzsche? Fuck

Nothing against Nietzsche himself but his philosophy is dilettante central.

because all the kids with acne dressed in black think he's cool

This was more a Deleuze thread than a Nietzsche thread.

Point stands.

has anyone read it? i feel like discussing it with someone

>implying you can do anything with acne but wait it out
>implying black clothes are bad
>implying Niecher isn't cool

As completely irrelevant, but still stands.

>Deleuze, author of Anti-Oedipus
>psychoanalytic hack
really makes you think

>In Nietzsche, we find two uses of the word Ursprung. The
first is unstressed, and it is found alternately with other terms
such as Entstehung, Herkunft, Abkunft, Geburt.

One of the first sentences of an essay, not a book: "Nietzsche, Genealogy, History"
