I always regret 5 guys after I eat there because I remember I can get a burger and a beer for under $15 at the bar. Tastes better there too.

I went expecting it to be something great because every one refuses to shut the fuck up about it. But it's literally just a burger. It's better than McDonalds sure, but it's still not as good as something I would make at home. In fact, I probably prefer McDonalds because it's far cheaper. I could even go to a pub and get something better. The only part of the expiriance I enjoyed was the free peanuts.

Yes, if you do it right (80/20, not too thick, salt and pepper only, high quality cheese and toppings, all beef, no egg or breadcrumbs or whatever other bullshit food blogs try to suggest). It's a really easy dish desu.

Five Guys is okay, it's just way overpriced.
I can go to Five Guys and get a burger, fries, and a Coke for $20,
or I can go to a local pub and get a burger, fries, and a beer for $10.

There's also the added benefit of not feeling completely disgusting with the latter.

charcoal grilled hamburgers in the back yard are better than fast food and chain restaurant burgers. the only problem is getting a good bun.

In N Out has the most bland buns of any hamburger joint in America, their fries are too thin and taste like cardboard. You should really take a break and try to get some taste.
