I'd go a light salad with crispy skin salmon but you could use any fish of your choice.

Healthy regular diet and no comfort eating, that's better in the long run.

But that's only my limited experience.

Citrus fruits, whole grains, fresh vegetables, and lots of olive oil. Try spice is like basil and oregano, I've heard that holy basil which is used in Asian Foods is especially good for depression.

Meat and vegetables only. It is vital that you only eat meat and vegetables if you want to cure depression.

Fruits and veggies. But not just food, go outside and take a walk, do some pushups, BE PRODUCTIVE. That's the best thing for me when I'm down, to eat healthy, drink lots of water and do something that makes me feel good about myself. Even dumb mundane shit like dusting every surface, or cleaning one room of the house (as opposed to having one big cleaning day).

This might sound gay and you might not be into it, but they sell adult coloring books. Those can take hours but you feel really good at the end. Or maybe you're a weeb so buy a Gundam figurine and put it together. Go on a hike or go fishing. If you live in a city go out and play Pokemon Go until your phone dies. I know you just asked for food, but it's a lot more than that. Good luck bruh.

so, everyone is giving bullshit answers, but as a survivor of clinical depression, i'll give a legit decent answer.

OP, when that wave of depression hits - like the deep thick feeling like you can't breathe or move. I found a little trick that helped me catch a breath. I'd carry a lemon or a lime, and when i felt the wave coming, i'd stick my thumbnail into the rind and take a deep whiff. Usually the smell was enough to fight that thick fog feeling and let me get my head up above it and think rationally for a second. Good luck OP. I'm pulling for you.

Look for happiness.

Get some magnesium in you. Eat fresh fruits, salads and fishes. Avoid alcohol and porn. Go to a concert or revive an interest in something you loved when you were younger. Do something nice for someone else, so you can feel good about yourself.

First off, you put a fruit of your choice and some vinegar into a blender

Then you add a shitload of bleach

I'v been diagnosed depression for past 4 years now.
Finding an hobby that gets you out the house is great, drawing form life or something.
But that is now my job so I take my car and hit the roads, trying to focus on always going faster and learning the limits of the car.
Shooting helps as well.
Kind of any hobby where your mind can't wander is good.
