don't be cheap, buy a stopper and airlock

Sterilise everything.

Can i get one at like a walmart or something?

Ignore this comment.

Botulism is something you're vaccinated against so you're immune.

Impurities add flavor.

Ive never been vaccinated for that

Cider won't get botulism in it retard

Yes you have, happened at birth, boosters at 12mo, 5yrs and 18yrs. You're good to go bro. Shit, there's a beer made from beard bacteria and yeasts.

Pruno does, so does cider. It's relatively harmless. Seriously over exaggerated.

Bacteria will fuck up the fermentation.

>botulism
>harmless

First off, fuck off with that.

Second, go get apples. You can probably collect them from rural roads and such for free.

Third, get a tabletop cider press. They're about £30-100 and easier than how I started doing it, which was just cutting them up, blending them and squeezing the juice through muslin bags.

Fourth, store it as you would homebrewed beer; make sure you have a stopper and an airlock, that everything has been decontaminated properly.

Fifth, expect to have to decant and empty the sediment from time to time.

Sixth, wait for it to ferment and age, then enjoy proper cider.

Source: grew up in the South West and made cider for nearly ten years now.

>2017
>not being vaccinated

Murder your hippie parents for shortening your lifespan.

this site is for people over 18 years of age

>apples grow in the desert

OP here, I've seen enough to know that he balloon works, i guess the better question would be to ask would be how do I sterilize the juice, the bottle, and the balloon

Juice is pasteurized already. Idiot.

2017 not realizing vaccines have become a money making scam. way to go normie

>not buying juice with no preservatives

Jokes on you medicaid paid for all mine.

>2017
>working

Pasteurization isn't a chemical. They use UV lamps to kill the pathogens.

Oh ok, i had a moment of autism were i forgot what pasteurizing was

Do i need to sterilize the bottle the juice came in?

Doesn't the danger from botulism come from the toxins the bacteria produce?

>grew up in the South West and made cider for nearly ten years now.

I'm from the South West and I think you have simplified it a little. ie. Scrumpy is not made like that.

What bacteria?

Not the user.
But I think they mean Clostridium botulinum - which is the bacterial agent for Botulism.

I also note that some people think they are vaccinated against it???
Unless you have served in the Military, it's most unlikely.

t.Know a bit about pathogens.

By law children must be vaccinated against botulism before they begin public schooling...so you're more than likely immune to it.

>By law children must be vaccinated against botulism
Are you sure about this?
I have NEVER heard of anybody being vaccinated for this, apart from Military Personnel against certain types of NBC agents!

We certainly don't do this in Britain.

OP here, just got a beer making kit that contains a jug and a airlock, any particular apple juice i need?

Shouldn't the acidity of the apples be enough to prevent botulism anyway?

I was thinking the alcohol content would kill it

Ones without preservitives. As they can kill the yeast.
