>Hey, user, is it true you're a philosophy major? Thats's awesome! Come, tell us something philosophical

>uh no thanks sorry it's secret knowledge.

what if time and space aint real lmoa???!

'Fuck her right in the pussy.'

This is pointless.

"My diary desu"

> mfw you can study philosophy at uni but there's no point since it is useless

When you're a philosophy major, it seems like everyone either thinks you study political mumbo-jumbo and law, or if they're super pleb, don't really have any idea in general. Personally my interests are in generative grammar, formal semantics, and philosophy of language, but I must be too incompetent to even explain the general idea behind these fields, because most people don't even seem to have a general idea of what I'm talking about. Hence when people ask me about my major, interests, and career goal I tend to be as vague as possible.

Meanwhile in reality.

People literally usually say to me "Oh you study philosophy? No wonder you're so depressed"

>Personally my interests are in generative grammar, formal semantics, and philosophy of language

Why didn't you study linguistics?

It is because women’s reasoning powers are weaker that they show more sympathy for the unfortunate than men, and consequently take a kindlier interest in them. On the other hand, women are inferior to men in matters of justice, honesty, and conscientiousness. Again, because their reasoning faculty is weak, things clearly visible and real, and belonging to the present, exercise a power over them which is rarely counteracted by abstract thoughts, fixed maxims, or firm resolutions, in general, by regard for the past and future or by consideration for what is absent and remote. Accordingly they have the first and principal qualities of virtue, but they lack the secondary qualities which are often a necessary instrument in developing it. Women may be compared in this respect to an organism that has a liver but no gall-bladder.

I am the warrior of my daydreams!

It's fairly easy to go Zizek on some mundane thing.

But honestly, the question is retarded.

Fuck am I tired of this capitalist-productivity meme that reduces the value of all human endeavor to whether or not it can be directly translated to profitability.

Study computer science, spend the rest of your days optimizing functions in Microsoft Excel and designing shitty applications, make bank. What a life.

what if the colors i see aren't the colors that YOU see

>i like to search for class struggle in strange domains
>vampires and zombies designates class struggle

Marx weeps

Marx himself was actually the first to use Vampires as a metaphor forCapital. Read more

>it's useless
By what criterion?

>capitalist-productivity meme
Call me when philosophy invents a way for humans to subsist without food, water, warmth, security, and medicine. Until then I'll stick to the 'meme' that quite naturally favours those who contribute to society which provides these needs

>Call me when philosophy invents a way for humans to subsist without food, water, warmth, security, and medicine. Until then I'll stick to the 'meme' that quite naturally favours those who contribute to society which provides these needs
>He hasen't read any socialist philosophy
Are you sure you're on the right board?

>undergrad
>useful

babby please. I'm not a philosophy major but I've taken more than enough credits for the minor. My argumentative skills have been greatly benefited by taking philosophy. It's been more 'useful' than any other classes I've taken. It's no wonder law students major in undergrad.

>Matthew 4:4

Socialism is about as real as your waifu

What the fuck are you even trying to say? That only work within the absolute essentials of what society needs is useful?

Seriously, I cannot understand your post mate.

Just like your mum.

>we live only to survive
>anything more is extraneous

>we live only to survive
Good luck disproving that :3

errr
so you wouldn't mind living in a North Korean labor camp for the next 50 years if it definitively secured your safety?

If the alternative is a crumbling anarchy state full of philosophy majors who do nothing but jerk off to their deep thoughts all day long, yes.
