Please Veeky Forums, what is the best treatment for internet addiction?

Are there any studies on this kind of addiction? What's going on in my brain (apart from lel dopamine)

I want the complicated explanation

...

>best treatment for internet addiction?

Prolonged wide spread power outage.

google for the complicated explanation. for treatment, just log off and suffer until you get bored enough to deal with whatever your real problem is. good luck.

If by internet you mean Veeky Forums, its probably because you have a lack of human interaction in your real life and you also crave information/stimulus. Try to get friends/ hang out with people in real life. Get a timer, limit Veeky Forums/Internet time to 1 hour a day

>what is the best treatment for internet addiction?
There is only "one" [workable] treatment. All others are false, so there is not "a" best.
The only solution for us druggies is to replace our addictions (negatives) with positives. Internet is a nasty addiction to break: but you are with a billion+ others; and 6 billion others who would be addicted--gladly--if they could. Dopamine is not meant to be used continuously (as pavlov's rats pushed the button for more stimulant and died). Unless something changes, you will likely have it for life: and when it goes out, you will panic as if you're drowning.
You can't stop, only replace.

What you have to do is get like e-internet.
They are like e-cigs but for the internet.

It is like sooo much healthier man just try it.

I guess a girlfriend/kids would be the answer.
Then there's the loophole of you not getting any because you spend too much time on the intewebs.

Just don't do it. You are a human. You have free will. Decide not to do something and keep at it. All other explanations are just procrastinations. Just don't do it. Literally shut your computer down now. Get away from your monitor right now. You have the ability, and you have freedom of thought and action.

Instant gratification etc.

Just turn it off, unplug it from your PC and phone.

>Free will

/x/ is that way --->

>That woman outside
Have you ever seen anybody who looks like her that is not a complete, self-absorbed dumbass? Why would I want to go outside and be near her, she probably even spends more day posting dumb shit on Facebook than that guy

also retard kid of ambiguous ethnicity, get the fuck off my lawn

Funny joke. But you don't seriously think humans don't have free will.

free will, (implying all choices) is not true.

determinism (implying no choices) is not true.

they're both meme ideas.

in reality you have 2 choices. to think or not to think. thought follows a path determined by the makeup of your mind and the input, so it is not 'free', but sufficient thinking causes alterations in behavior outside of determinism.

this is due to the recursive nature of sapient consciousness. when you think, you think about what you think about what you think about what you think about etc etc. this is the zoroastrian's "spiral god". also, the whirlwind out of which god spoke to job.

the universe is not made up of deterministic cannon balls. at a fundamental level it is unsure of what it is going to do next. only humans experience the awareness of awareness, and that is why we can change the future.

maybe you can barely change anything about how the next 5 minutes, or 5 days, play out. but with enough directed thought - choosing to think and not let go of the process - you can change your future.

thoughts become ideas become words become actions become habits become character becomes destiny.

You have to be 18 to post here.

You can't stop being addicted to the internet, no one can. It's basic for living in today's society. It's like stopping to "be addicted" to food.
The only thing you can do is spending less time in it.

you should be a mental adult to post here too, but it seems we can't enforce that, if the amount of people who hold such nuanced positions as 'free will isn't real' and 'free will is real' is anything to go by.

basic physics, asshat.

except your thoughts are a physical construct like anything else, so yes, even your thoughts are subject to determinism.

Your thoughts are not your choice.

Not how quantum physics works dipshit.

Every choice you feel you've made is an illusion.

Wrong. 0/1 points. Zero.

enjoy whatever it is that you get out of nihilist reductionisism. try to avoid associating it with the sciences, however; it gives them a bad name.
