Why do STEMfags think they're better at humanities than people who study humanities?

Why do STEMfags think they're better at humanities than people who study humanities?

Why do people that read on a regular basis believe themselves to be better than anyone else?

>muh objective analysis
>muh bloated ego from a false sense of superiority from being brought up on dawkins and black science man
They think they're better than everyone at everything they deem "intellectual"

Seriously?

Immediately gainful and available jobs. Math is hard for lots of people.

>Immediately gainful and available jobs

This is a lie. Don't fall for the STEM meme, friends.

Ask me why I know you're a STEMfag

Honestly? Generally higher intelligence. There is no real barrier to entry for the humanities, it's a world based on the idea an opinion can't be wrong. The people who occupy STEM tend to be better at everything because they're the people with brains enough to do actual academia.

see

You have never been in a humanities class

>implying STEMfags even care about black science man

Pop-science and Atheismâ„¢ is for non-STEMfags

> von Neumann couldn't have fucked up humanities thoroughly if he thought it was worth his time

enjoy writing book-reviews and shilling for the nu-left. this is the worst era in history to be a lib-arts academic

And how is it relevant? I've spent enough time bumming around in College to observe the capacity for critical thinking on both sides of the spectrum. The humanities normies lose nearly everytime. The outliers in question tend to be so disaffected and not representative of their lot they hardly warrant mention.

I've heard little enough about Dawkins or black science man from either group. In fact the humanities lot seem to the ones to bring them up, as some kind of rebuttal or proof that they know something about the STEM world, some kind of weird name drop.

It's for first year STEMfags, and the indentation it leaves on their ego and the STEM culture lingers.

Applicability, being able to build a working radio is much more impressive than being able to analyze influences in post modern architecture (to most people anyway).

>muh safe space

They'll forget all about that crap and it will fade away when reality hits at their first job.

>von Neumann could have written Finnegans Wake
Not even close, and I'm a von Neumann fan.

Wishing I would have gone into lit instead of engineering as we approach finals. Granted, I don't know what the job prospects are for lit, but I imagine the university experience is a lot better. I'm miserable 24/7 and am just barely holding it together.

>this is the worst era in history to be a lib-arts academic
This actually captures my feelings quite a bit. There is no integrity in today's artistry, there's more dignity to just follow the STEM money and attend to artistic considerations privately.

>I've never been in humanities: the post
>critical thinking is intelligence
Fuck off STEMsperg.

Your denial changes nothing.

You're missing my point. Johnny could have done any academic/theory work that came out of the liberal arts in his era. He just had better things to do with his limited time. For what it's worth, I love Joyce.

>denial
STEMspergs are literalists.
STEMspergs are this delusional.

From the STEMfags themselves pic related

>my outrage at the truth constitutes a refutation
lel

>tfw no terminally ill qt Slovenian chess genius gf ;_;

RIP STEMspergs

Truth doesn't exist.

> post contentless, opinion-driven drivel
> back it up with memes
typical humanities

>In fact the humanities lot seem to the ones to bring them up, as some kind of rebuttal or proof that they know something about the STEM world, some kind of weird name drop.
This thread is certainly proof of that.

>gettin' any kinda educashun in 2016
fools

Because they make more money and making more money should mean you are better but thats not true in most cases is just pure ideology 101
Also the humanities are a joke on the patrician scene
>2016
>going to college/uni
>not living the savage detectives lifestyle
Smdh

Because STEM fields are very relevant today, and their work / products are revered and sought after by just about everyone. It also takes a formidable level of high functioning autism to make it far in them. So, many of them have a bloated ego.

>spergs out over an obvious contentless troll
Stay classy, STEM.

Make some friends and study buddies or you will never fully integrate yourself into the field and that makes it so much harder to stay focused. Realize that school is 100% your top priorty above all else - this means homework and studying every day, multiple hours, entertainment like socializing and blideo bames need to be sidelined until you genuinely have time for them.

Honestly if the material isn't at least somewhat fascinating to you, then you may as well switch to humanities, where you don't have to crack a book til midway through the term and instead waste your time browsing memes and sitting on your fat piece pf shit ass eating cheetos and marathoning shows since you are garbage at properly managing your time and achieving personal goals.

T. Chem eng

>yfw at any given moment there are a dozen STEM majors with aspergers browsing Veeky Forums ready to pounce in defense of their dull, narrow fields

People who choose to only study one or the other are retarded.
Both specialists have a negative view of the others intelligence.
They way I can tell if someone is ignorant and intellectually shallow is if they shit on a group of people studying a certain field.
There are interesting and fascinating things to learn about everything.

>truth doesn't exist.

>mathematics does't exist.

>science doesn't exist.

>objectivity in general doesn't exist.

k

>truth exists because of my opinion
HOW FUCKING DARE YOU QUESTION MY IDEOLOGY

Hahahaha look at the STEMsperg doing his objectivity thing!!!

>mathematics is objective
Arbitrarily-chosen axioms.
>science is objective
Nothing based upon people can be objective
>objectivity exists
Impossible.

These guys get it.

scientism.

the overwhelming efficacy of science in its field makes them think it will be the same in other fields.

As a fellow chemical engineer I spend more time reading books and playing computer games than doing homework and studying. Hard work is a joke. Just read stories all day and fantasize about joining the peshmerga and bringing socialist revolution to the middle east and you'll do fine.

>tfw being a patrician you have had this debate with STEMfags countless times, but each STEMfag is an ideological carbon copy of each other and it's stale
>So rather than win outright with a huge dissertation you just shitpost because it's fun to watch the sperg sparks fly

...

Science without the humanities is lame.
Humanities without science is fine.
-Albert Einstein.

Better AT HUMANITIES. I guess they don't teach reading comprehension when you major in theoretical mathematics.

I'm a STEMfag but I come to these threads to make fun of STEM majors. We need to stop posting.

>mfw STEM
>mfw smorter than humanity fags
>mfw high salary in a field I like
>mfw I read more books than half you jelly plebs here
>mfw consistently get laid, triggering Veeky Forums-faggots

Lmao you humanities majors are so pathetic

>STEM majors get laid more than humanities majors
Enjoy your robot sex, my dude.

>le rational centrist faec

literally kys yourself, my man

this is what cracks me up about you humanity-cucks

elaborate? I know you're autistic, but I can't read your mind.
Was it the multi-layered insult that cracked you up? The fact that you could literally be fucking robots, or the fact that you are all so robotic if you were to fuck a STEM major, it would be the least exciting robot sex imaginable? Even if I was that token fat bearded humanity major, I would near certainly have a more exciting sex life, and if not there's nothing to be jealous of.
You can talk lots of trash. Your career prospects, while as bland as your personalities, are greater. Don't bother with the domain of sex though, that's the domain of the humanities.

because they are?

they are like someone who is really good at sports but really bad at chess and so when they play chess they try to do it with the rules of sports. they will for instance try to ride the horse, or climb the tower. this absurdity they do is meant to hide their incompetence in chess by making reference to their competence in sports in the context of chess, which is only meant to destroy chess.

which of course will never happen as sports and board games are two different equally possible games.

I can assure you that I am better than the phone addicted millennials I see everywhere.

another humanities virgin getting triggered by the mention of sex. absolutely pathetic.

Because I've taken humanities classes in college and the workload is a joke compared to STEM classes. Sure I may not get as high a mark as a pure philosophy major but I can breeze to a 70% grade with minimal effort and no prior background. The same can't be said for humanities majors taking science classes. Most humanities classes only use a couple of essays or "reading reflections" for assessment too.

>the workload is a joke compared to STEM classes

lel. thats what stem does to your mind, it turns it into a simple machine able to do nothing but mechanical work and then measuring everything in its terms.

>major in english lit at hyp
>work in finance
>look down on boring stemfags while making more money than they do

Haha no. Lots of STEM degrees are just as useless or even more so than most humanities. Biochemistry, biology, ecology, etc. List goes on

>it's a world based on the idea an opinion can't be wrong

>I can assure you that I am better than the phone addicted millennials I see everywhere.
Why? What makes you better?

Wew lad I fucking love this. Stay mad peasant :^)

Makes me feel better desu

>Biochemistry
this. Totally wasted mytime at college on this nonsense

Same here.

STEM is more rigorous is all
Intellectual work done in humanities has a safety net of being ultimately unfalsifiable and subjective, and therefore pretentious by its very nature.

at least you're making lots of money r-right

>cc 2 years
>transfer to uni and graduate with a 3.9
>fall for the law school meme at a t6 law school :^)

lol naw senpai. I gave up on it after two years of testing soil and water samples for environmental contaminates. Don't even want to think about the chemical exposure I got during that time

STEM has no rigor.

Please explain further. I am morbidly curious as to your reason why.

I actually went to law school too. I was just presenting a scenario that lots of my friends did. Good on ya for being smart about it.

Humanties: airheaded sophists
STEM: autistic robohumans
CS: true gods of intellectualism

dude orgo is the easiest shit ever hhahahaha calculus? did that in middle school ahahahahah

stem is a joke if you're not a complete retard.

Who is she? She's perfect.

...

delet this

>humanities are both low-iq AND low-test

really gets those synapses firing huh?

I don't understand what your chart is supposed to prove. All the stuff in the bottom right is social science, health, or education, not humanities.

heres a better graph

>what is a superiority complex?

philosophy is at the very top, not to mention its a chart of females so..

You're not really helping our cause here with your graph-reading skills, brother. Kindly delete your post.

>STEM

That's because the humanities are a fucking joke right now, look at any humanities department in any university (especially American) and tell me I'm wrong

Any chart like this which has Law students on it too? Because judging from my classmates the majority are pretty thick

Damn, that picture is sad..

I guess this is the case for every major. My major is pretty high up on the list and my classmates are still pretty dumb. It's probably not so bad when you actually talk to them.

>that image is an advertisement for being able to work outside of work hours
>I honestly thought it was some kind of poll demonstrating the pernicious overreach of work culture in leisure time, where people are never truly free at ease
>It's actually an ad aimed at those looking to further their wage slavery
I have no words.

>THERE'S NO ESCAPE

ok pajeet

>truth doesn't exist because of my opinion

CS major here. It really isn't. I am probably going to use CS as a stepping stone for a better major.

ITT: confirmation bias

really, you should just do both so you don't attach your ego to one and come off as a stemsperg or muh human condition fag

>trying to sell slaves more ergonomic shackles

while i was looking into the iqs by major i also found this, pretty interesting desu

gnxp com/blog/2007/04/intercourse-and-intelligence.php

>tfw as a physics major my sex life is fucked

I'm an electrical engineer and I am still able to do the work that a 3rd year humanity student can do(Model UN and Debating). Its not that your necessarily dumb, its just that it doesn't require you to be all that smart. Was deemed respectable work for humanities is a lot more easy to obtain then the acceptable work for STEM.

>still illiterate
You know Wellesley is a women's college, right? It's probably even worse for men.

>acceptable
spooky
