I want to get into Christianity but I don't want to waste my time on shitty denominations.

Which way should I go?

The redpill

Read the bible (can skip old testament), make up the most self-serving interpretation you like.

>can skip old testament
Phenomenally bad advice.

Catholic or Presbyterian. They are the truest Veeky Forums denominations. Anyone who tells you otherwise is an atheist Redditor faggot.

You go to the church and accept the Lord into your heart.

I hate to break it to you but if you're looking to 'get into Christianity' because people on Veeky Forums called you a fedora for your atheism you are just another LARPer and God hates LARPers.

The history of Christianity and the works of theology that came out at its peak are fascinating but if you haven't been indoctrinated from an early age you will never be able to sincerely believe.

>faith is 'indocrination' and not people's natural impulse to seek divinity

Sincere belief in the divine truth of the Holy Bible requires decades of indoctrination, yes.

The most an atheist can hope for in terms of divinity is deism.

>get into Christianity
Don't
Christianity is a cool thing to study because it really did produce some amazing works. I recently read Sous le soleil de Satan and it was amazing how well Bernanos could relate Christian philosophy to the human condition

BUT, as amazing as these works are there is still no justification for christian god being any more real than allah god or jew god or hindu god(s) or any of them

Good post mate. I tried to 'get into Christianity' but I just couldn't make myself believe and I think its a lack of early experience. I'm dabbling in Buddhism now and getting a lot from it x

Roman Catholicism is the only "denomination".

Rest are heresies that need to be purged.

Catholicism obviously.

Orthodoxy is a good second choice.

What's with the beret? It makes me uncomfortable.

Anyone who's actually christian would not say this. Of course faith is not an immediate thing, it takes a lifetime, even for someone indoctrinated at an early age, but God will forgive all those who believe, it does not matter at what point in your life you join the church.

>church
how does it feel to get deluded by capitalism? God is in your heart, not in some shitty stone building

some hat that clergy can be seen wearing sometimes

Most people do not have either the resources of inclination to find that on their own and so Church helps them do that. There is nothing wrong with it. Sure it's outdated with the internet but that said I don't think there's any problem.

It has nothing to do with capitalism. Not sure why you even bought that up.

>churches
>capitalism
how many levels of ideology are you on right now?

protip
pay attention to those who try to convey an absence of hope
>you weren't born for this give up
>ha ha you're deluded
>etc
you'll figure it out

Those hats look gay

Pink used to be a boy color in the US. Colors are a social construction, like gender.

they do look like happy headwear

Wrong.

No, you are

The most consistent one is Orthodoxy.

Anything else is heresy and you might as well become secular.

The Catholic Church's doctrine is consistent, it just acknowledges the changing and degrading of human civilization.

And degrades right with it, vying for the approval of progressive liberal secularists in a desperate attempt to stay 'relevant'.
