Fuckin' weebs

Makes u think

So, a Japanese playwright wanted to be shitposted with on a Japanese-image based forum by a Westerner?

Is that what he wanted OP, is that really what he wanted.

>Turning Jap Lit into Hipster Lit

Fuck you.

don't worry, normies don't appreciate the romantics either.

I want to get into Basho, who's the best translator?

same, thinking about learning Japanese for him.

been struggling to decide between learning french and japanese myself.
thinking maybe french, though.

as someone who has experience with both, the latter is a LOT harder.

thanks, thought as much.
french it is then, most likely.

this desu, I've been learning Japanese as my secondary degree in uni, failed miserably. It is nice to learn it when you can dedicate majority of your time to it, while French is easier to learn in general

it will help a lot knowing the process of learning languages before throwing yourself into something as alien as Japanese.
both are beautiful, but I'd definitely suggest doing French first.

here

Spanish or French? (Don Quixote is a big deal in this)

I'd go for French, it has a bigger literary history and great poetry.

I'd say French too, for literary purposes, Spanish will be a lot easier anyways if you know French.

sooo
French --> Spanish --> Japanese --> Koine --> Arabic --> Hebrew --> Die
is that a good order?

yes that looks fine. don't get ahead of yourself though.

probably switch around Hebrew and Die

It is impossible for me to convey how much I hate weebs. My hatred for them has transferred over to Japan itself for breeding them. They are all effeminate imbeciles, but at least they alone know how to arouse the inner antisocial bully in me.

are you being anti Semitic or is Hebrew just real hard?

Try the redpill and see if you have any interest in it anymore, cuck

i'm not interested in propaganda, especially propaganda that's as lazy as
>hurr big nose bad

You don't even know how brainwashed you are, kiddo

>This tinfoil hat sure is stylish rn

So... best translator for Basho?

Basho and Issa are both excellent.
I'm going to start Buson soon, have you read him OP?

>Shakespeare and donne
>romantics

[triggered]

just get the penguin editions..........

I might, penguin is usually shit, though.

>>imho romantics are basic narcissists
explain

this is the single most cringe thing i have ever read

Is it? I never found a problem with their translations

I'm not English native but I usually read in english and it has been fine so far

>everyone praising Shakespeare and donne
>imho romantics are basic narcissists

subtle bait user. i like it

...

you're not baiting are you, you're actually just retarded.

not sure about for japanese, but their russian selection is sub-par at best

Actually, now that i think about it, their version of Tale of Genji is the preferred one.

>Shakespeare
>romantic

hm, i see
i mainly read other translations of theirs, not russian tho (i'll make sure to not get russian lit from penguin).

some of their spanish translations are quite iffy too, that's true

>reading translations
>reading translations of poems

kys

This meme is better suited at the beginning of the thread.

french is easier, japanese is more interesting. I'm a Canadian who can speak french, just learning japanese now. It is so remote from germanic and romance languages that it is fascinating. Only drawback is you can't tell anyone or else you'll be labeled a weeb, which basically happened to me when I brought it up in a discussion with my group of friends. I don't even like anime or manga or whatever, but still got roasted. So I have to study it secretly

Real hip kids learn Persian and read that shit.
