I just took my ASVAB test and I couldn't get this one question:
X=4 y=1/4
3(x+6y) - xy

The 3 answer choices I remember were
15-1/2
17-1/2
71-1/2

WHAT THE FUCK REEEEEEEEEE

lel, enjoy being a cook or something

3(x+6y) - xy
3(4+6*1/4)-4*1/4
3(4+6/4)-4/4
12+18/4-1
11+18/4
11+4+2/4
15+2/4
15+1/2

hm, weird OP

3 x ( 4 + 6/4)
3 x ( 5.5)

3(4+6(1/4))-4/4
3(8/2+3/2)-1
3(11/2)-2/2
33/2-2/2
34/2-1/2
17-1/2
ez af

It's 16 -1/2 wtf

>17-1/2

>15-1/2
did you mean 15.5?

3((4)+6(1/4))-(4)(1/4)
3(4+6/4)-(1)
3(22/4)-1
(66/4)-1
(33/2)-1
31/2
15+1/2

3(4+6(1/4))-4/4
3(8/2+3/2)-1
3(11/2)-2/2
33/2-2/2
31/2 +1/2 -1/2
32/2 - 1/2
16 - 1/2

>unironically solving OPs little brothers kindergarten homework

>31/2 +1/2 -1/2
You're missing a -1/2 in there

I'm pretty sure it's 15-1/2 FUCK I ALMOST ACED THAT SECTION FUCKFUXKUFXKDUCK REREE

why were you unable to correctly solve a simple substitution problem?

Idk I'm autistic maybe I think I'm smart dude but FUCK

What was your score? I got a 96 after being out of school for some time. GT score was 131.

Was in basic with a guy that had GT 140... he was fucking lost in the sauce though.

It's okay. That's why they lowered the standard to a 22.

Lol, I was that guy. 138 GT score and yet still was the one everyone thought was retarded.

I'm probably an aspie.

Really? Holy shit.

I got a 95. I wasn't even trying. I had a fucking 38 in the mechanical section

As long as you score well in the electronic section and pass you will be okay. Pro tip: don't go 25U if you're going into the Army. I was a 25U and installed Windows XP and troubleshooted outdated radio equipment for 4 years. I would go 25S, you get experience working with satellites which equates to a decent job in civilian life. If had to do it over again I would man up and go to college instead of being hard headed. I'm 23 and only have 1 semester of college so far.

Yeah, I don't get it either. That test is intentionally piss easy. Just think of the average US citizen, and remember that half the country is dumber than that.
No job in the military is what it's talked up to be. I went CBRN and I was told I'd be working with CS on a daily basis and using a flamethrower. I am now qualified to tell someone how to shower and wash my car.

The MOS I wanted (35M) didn't have any openings so I told my recruiter I would be fine with any intel jobs. He called me and told me to come down to the recruiting office. He said there are probably not going to be any openings soon and the next best thing was 25U. Convinced me and now here I am with no real life skills

Yeah, too bad recruiters don't tell you about hopping on a wait list. Actually talked to a USN recruiter about swapping services and changing to flight school, and he gave the typical "well if there are openings we can check but that's gonna take a while" bullshit. I haven't gotten any call backs from him.

At least now I hide my emotions and dip tobacco-- most manly landscaper in the world
