Maxima (Computer Algebra System)

Why are you not using Maxima user

looks like some matlab + mathematia, but shitty

just use mathematica. your school pays for it

stop shilling

Nope.exe

nope

what is that picture supposed to mean, fuck off

Obviously lel happy RMS tricking programmers into losing their rights to their code.

Why this when I have octave? srs

Also, sagemath exist

But Lisp backend seems pretty comfy

Octave is a powerhouse, not sure if is as extensive as Maxima but is among two other tools I respect besides Maxima (the other being R)

Funny fact, Sage uses Maxima :^)

But yeah, Lisp is behind, just imagine what you can do with that, and how easy might be (relatively to other tools I mean)

Nice try (((Wolfram)))

got a guide for this?

The program has a nice guide incorporated.

So Maxima can do everything octave can do? I'm just not gonna bother with it unless there's a benefit. I use octave almost strictly for parametric graphing and numeric computations.

I used sage during my first years which includes maxima along with other nice stuffs.

Yes, Maxima can do everything Octave does, however their primary focus is symbolic mathematics. That is not to say it can't be extended way beyond.

Oh nice. I've been meaning to install a symbolic program, thanks user.
