yep. But that's the public...infatuated by musk, NDT, bill nye...they have a pretty shitty eye for talent. All that matters now is self promotion

>Landing a rocket doesn't make you an expert at everything.

Hire HIRES experts sweeti.
Gives them a goal.
Work them to their bones.
But still his employees aren't mad cause otherwise they would be doing unfulfilling jobs.

>God this man is so cringy.
Agree.
Still he makes smart men do nice things.
What else do you want?

Well, the public thinks he designs the rockets/cars etc HIMSELF, that's the cringey part. But I guess if you're rich and powerful, you can convince anyone of anything.

>now

Seriously?

Is hating on Musk a meme now? I don't get it, why hate someone who's genuinely trying to do some good for the world? Plus they are making breakthroughs aren't they?

Because it's all just a spectacle. There are legitimately more pressing problems that can be solved. Instead of creating a colony for the elite in case this world goes to shit how about musk actually try tries slow the shitting of this world.

Don't bother, these people are hopeless.

>Hire HIRES experts sweeti.
Sure, and von Braun just "hired experts" too.

Know what you get when you just "hire experts"? Delta IV. Maybe Ariane 5 if you're lucky. Very possibly, you get Constellation.

Musk had to fight his engineers to get reusability. They told him it wouldn't work well enough in what they were building and would be a waste of money. Indeed, neither Falcon 1 nor Falcon 9 1.0 were reusable. But if they hadn't started trying then, it wouldn't be working now.

The people you hire to take care of the fiddly details won't have vision and big-picture pragmatism. If they did, they'd go and get rich themselves, so they could pursue their own dreams without having a boss. They get overinvested in dead-end ideas and try to apply them when they need to be abandoned, stuck in a local minimum.

>the public thinks he designs the rockets/cars etc HIMSELF
Of course he doesn't work alone, but he's heavily involved in the design processes.

>heavily involved
Well, we'll never know will we. Chances are he just takes the credit for the stuff his employees do. Perhaps not on purpose, but the media certainly LOVES portraying him like a god.

They're just mad they're not as willing to invest in their ideas as he is, and WAAAH WE AREN'T ON MARS YET HE HASNT DONE ANNYYYTHIIING

>Well, we'll never know will we.
...except we do know, because the people who've worked with him talk about how he works.

You dont even know what youre talking about, do you

>Comparing a business man to Von Braun.

Wew lad.

>He had to fight his engineers to get something

Clearly then he deserves all the credit. I don't even hate Musk, just his retarded fanboys.

If it was just his employees, then all the other rocket companies would be re-using them.

and what the fuck have you accomplished you virgin loser

>>Comparing a business man to Von Braun.
>Wew lad.
So you're saying what von Braun did would be *less* impressive if he got rich enough in the private sector to fund his own first space rocket, rather than joining the Nazi Party and the SS?

Von Braun was a project manager. He had engineers working under him. Even the V-2 wasn't some Wright Brothers effort where a genius or two rolled up their sleeves and built a space rocket with their own hands. Very similar position to Musk at SpaceX.

I think Elon Musk will go down as the most influential person in the history of humanity. He is literally saving our civilisation with Tesla (electric cars), SolarCity (renewable energy), OpenAI (ethical AI), Neuralink (brain-computer interface), The Boring Company (transportation mobility) and of course SpaceX (multi-planetary species). He is preparing us against 3 of the most significant existential threats we face: climate change, superintelligence, and planetary disasters. We are truly privileged to be witnessing this at its earliest stages.

Pic related is gold toilet paper. It costs over $ 1 million dollars. It's only purpose is for signalling you are so goddamn rich you can afford to flush money down the toilet.

Musk spending money on this stuff is a heck of a lot better than him spending money on stupid shit lile gold toilet paper

Its only purpose is to get attention for a toilet-paper company, and their $1/roll toilet paper.

If they really had to make it, it'd take about $500 worth of gold leaf and maybe an hour of carefully rolling it in.

How does this even make you losers mad¿

If you were right and he is 100% talking out his ass it will become apparent quickly. Not like you nerds are doing anyone a favor by talking out your ass to misplace his experience and foresight.
Not like anyone listens to you either, why else would you post this here.
