this really belongs in so sage, but if you must know... anything by zachtronics - TIS-100 for instance.

Any of Terry A. Davis's

Talos principle is pretty good too

Stellaris is pretty good.

Here, have this word search.

turn-based strategy games (they are like chess with guns)

SpaceChem

And Shenzen I/O

PowderToy

turn-based is for brainlets. real-time is where it's at

I already have Shenzen I/O, but is TIS-100 also good ?

From the Depths, only game where I've ever had to use math above algebra to play.

Well I'm Veeky Forums and I like fighting games and story heavy walking simulators (Gone Home, SOMA, etc).

go, although alphago has kinda ruined it for me a bit. I'm 3kyu on KGS but haven't played this year really

lol you could have at least named a good walking simulator

exercise problems

Not good

seeing how many papers you can get published in a year.

old men... running the world...

>zachtronics
This, also Shenzen is cooll

This is correct

Do your homework user.

Fallout 4
:^)
I really enjoyed TIS 100. Very similar puzzles to Shenzhen, but different enough that I think you'll still find it fresh.

Math blaster for pc

Dwarf fortress

>Dig into a cavern
>"Forgotten beast has awoken"

only real answer: conways game of life.

EteRNA
Basically foldit except with cute 2D RNA structures instead.

KSP

What's a good problem solving game? I mean where you have to recognize a pattern (like raven matrix or sucessions), or do some math. A "smart" game

Brain Age

...

Try SET for patter recognition.

Factorio.

Warning: Do not download if you have work to do during the next month.

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

is the creator of this monstrosity still here?

Video games are a waste of time.

Well, boards aren't any better.

Posting on Veeky Forums is a job, that pays decently. So I disagree.

Chess is for retards amirite?

Wolfram Mathematica

Sonic The Hedgehog

took me a second to get the joke

Engineering Simulation or puzzle games such as Spacechem or Children of a Dead Earth.

Learning and problem solving.

Chess and Go are simply so restrictive.

We need to invent a replacement for both that computers won't dominate.

How about any game that requires movement of your body?

Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare

Algodoo

Looks pretty cool. I like reading about organic chem as a hobby and this may be a good way to get a better grasp of it.

oh fuck no. SpaceChem has nothing to do with chemistry. It's just a waste of time.

holy underrated batman

KOHCTPYKTOP: Engineer of the People

I second that, I haven't cracked out on a game like this in almost 10 years.

It also helps that it is based on some electrical engineering concepts so it feels like you are doing some kind of "meaningful" work as well as playing.

Why has no one made a strategy game that emulates novel pathogens and the human immune system?

>vaginal circumference potential

Amazing.

These plus simearth and species:ALRE really. There are a couple of other science related games but these are probably the best.

There ya go.

I first saw this game earlier today and it looked great

Is it really that good? Will I ever leave my house if I buy it?

Dota 2

did he released an alpha or something?

bioshock infinite is the brainlet filter

it's great for the first 20 hours or so, but the game isn't nearly complex enough yet.

It was good at first, but the end game is too long. Even on a small map, when it gets down to the last civ you have these huge fleets and landing parties and you're trying to take so many planets at once in such an open environment, plus all the lag, it was just too unweildy. Never even finished the game even though i had it won. Uninstalled.

brainlet neckbeard detected

Fiji is just ImageJ and GraphPad Prism

Half Life (1998) is the most scientifically accurate game I've ever played
Kerbal Space Program is pretty good too

Jesus Christ a loli simulator

credit where credit's due: this is one of the most impressively productive displays of autism I've ever seen.

>is the creator of this monstrosity still here?
no, he hasn't posted in the general for a while, think its been about a year since I saw him last

Haven't got SHenzen I/O, but TIS-100 looks kinda similar but not with the shiny graphics. It's a fairly forgiving take on assembler style programming, though the puzzles still get pretty tricky. Very minimalist, but pretty engaging if you like that sort of thing

Tiberium Wars.

This. I learnt about pathfinding algorithms, PIDs, intercept algorithms, probabilistic position prediction, and tons more through that game. Not to mention it's the reason I can actually program for shit.

Is it the Battleship game?
