I would absolutely agree with this but honestly I'd put ziti higher than penne. Ziti seems more substanial while penne kinda feels...flabby.

Depends on the sauce. For thick sauces I like rotini as the sauce gets stuck in the grooves. For think sauces, a pasta with a lot of surface area like linguine or angel hair work well.

For serious tho, the best pasta dish I've ever had was anchovies, melted in olive oil with garlic and red pepper, with bucatini tossed in, finished with pecarino. So fuckin good

A good pasta needs a good surface-contact with the tongue, enough resistance to the teeth, and good aesthetics with little work.
