Who are some more good german writers besides pic related

who are some more good german writers besides pic related

>Ludwig Wittgenstein
>German

i mean german-language

...

I wish this list had names.

Bernhard & Sebald I guess

Hesse u fuck

I came here to say this

Adolf Hitler

ha ha just kidding, he'e austrian

>includes Wolff
>excludes Leibniz

delete this thread. you've shamed your volk.

>asks for good german writers
>has Hegel and Nietzsche in the same .jpg

muh ideology

celan duh

here's one i did of spain with names

Ernst Junger
Hitler

Why the fuck don't you add names reeeee

>Austrians
>not Germans
Hahaha upvote fellow redditor

add names for plebs

not happening plebs

Alfred Doblin

Grass, Musil, Broch, Döblin

Heinrich Böll

>maymaydegger
>good writer
Le what

...

in litereature it's quite practical to use 'German' for 'writing in German'. The term 'German' is quite vague anyway and the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany doesn't justify to only call German what's been born in its borders.

I think Hesse is missing in the chart. E.T.A. Hoffmann is a great writer, he's a bit like a German E.A. Poe, and he was a composer, too.

>Brecht
kys

got em
might put the names/birth-death dates on them in a min

Hoffmann is already in the chart

the German spirit is too complected and removed from the real world to really create good literature. It's more suited for music and philosophy

workin on the naming now

idk if i should include all of them
are there any on here that are not chart-worthy

i kinda want some tiers too but not sure how to go about it

i'm thinkin maybe organizing it by enlightenment
counter-enlightenment
romanticism
modernism
stuff like that
then the minor figures can have names only but no pics
not sure where someone like nietzsche would go though

How the hell did you even know what Wolff looked like?

okay here's what i have so far

they're in order of birth

cleaned up pic some

who am i missing

i'd like to have a top 100 german-language writers of all time chart
have about 85 on here now

added some more, done for tonight

Oswald Spengler

hesse you fucking faggot

Can you please make it a little more readable? Maybe break it up into a few charts so the text can be increased?

might do something like that soon
if so i'll post it

have around 92 people on here now
would like to have a top 100 german-lang writers chart
prob missing a good bit still

Thanks.
Could always do more than 100 for starters and then let the people on this thread help narrow it down.
Could also be broken up by dates of birth or something along those lines.

wow this is good, looks like good Veeky Forums is coming back

nah, i'm just posting without my tripcode

ernst junger you fucking faggot

Bumping so this good thread doesn't get lost to the archives.

>mfw everyone forgot about Georg Büchner

>Kant
>good writer
kek

And where in the fuck is Hölderlin?

Ah, the "Büchner is a forgotten darling" meme.
His plays fucking suck.

think i have most of romantic period now

don't think i'm missing any big philosophers either
unless you count logical positivist crap

If Buber is in so should Rosenzweig

Freud if you include austrians.

Also Hesse

he's a impressive person, though. Doktor of human medicine at the age of 23 and college teacher having already written three plays

Wagner wrote prose with a certain impact, but it's illegible in my opinion. Are Juenger, Borchert and Remarque on the chart? Also Ludwig Thoma should be included, only Bavarian writer of significance and huge influence on the early Hitler

Arno Schmidt

>His plays fucking suck

you gotta read Lenz tho, it's the only text by Büchner I actually enjoy

Please don't forget me.

Mein.

rosenzweig, borchert, wagner added

the other suggestions were already there

should i add HITLER?

Jelinek, you also forgot Broch for this image

Franz Brentano looks patrician as fuck

Byung Chul-Han.

German language author

Jesus Christ, Germans really are the above normal europeans

MASTER RACE

The two sons from T. Mann are missing. Both great writers

Go to bed fatherdubs.

Look at Lessing

Look at Marx

The hand hidden in the sweater is a Masonic hand symbol, sign language used for recognition by fellow Masons

bump

Christa Wolf can't be missing here.

Also where the fuck is Musil, where is von Doderer? Where is Canetti? Where is Gotthelf? Jelinek? So many more names. This list is incomplete as fuck.

Uhland is missing too

I don't know if Wittgenstein would be considered a good writer; he himself admitted that he was unable to properly express his ideas using language. The style of his published work is very dry and mechanical (as it is with most analytic philosophers of the time). A very good philosopher — but his writing is largely ineffective and clumsy, and un-Wittgensteinian.
