What Japanese food is a must try...

What Japanese food is a must try? My experience with their cuisine is pretty much only miso soup and sushi and I'll be visiting Tokyo next week. I got on my list

>Chankonabe
>Ramen
>Natto
>Omurice
>Takoyaki
>Shabu shabu
>Mochi
>Okonomiyaki
>Melonpan
>Kaiseki
>those fat pancakes

Any recommendations or favorites?

カレーライス
和菓子・お菓子
麦水飴
梅干し
甘酒
酒(梅酒。サツマイモ酒)

Mochi ice cream

Inarizushi

Don't try natto, you won't like it
Yakisoba(pan)
Tonkatsu
Beef bowl like gyuudon
Udon, basically a thicker ramen

And to add to this guy, (sweet potato) shochu

katsudon

Honestly you'd be able to get most of those foods in an major metropolitan area. I'd go with:
>Kaiseki
>real authentic 100% Japanese sushi
>high quality Junmai sake
>uni
>wagyu beef

Fuck katsudon, get some kitsunedon

I really want to try unagi, the glaze makes it look so appetising and apparently it's pretty delicious for how simple it is

Try everything

日本酒

Try natto, maybe you'll like it.
Source : I love it.
Pic related is me when eating natto.

I love natto.

I eat it almost every day for breakfast.

@ people in this thread

How does sake taste like? Same for sparkling sake

Also do some people get drunk with it straight out of the bottle or what

Katsukare, I lived in Japan for a while and I had that every day. Lot's of restaurants sell it as well

Katsudon and Katsu Curry
Kaiten Sushi

Donkatsu is p good

Warm it's tastes like nothing.

It tastes like warm flat rice beer. It's served in little cups or bowls.

Sake's smooth, a little bit sweet. I'm actually not as big a fan of it warm as I am room temperature/cold.
I've gotten a little buzz off of a bottle of sake before, but that makes sense, it's about the same alcohol content as wine.
