How much money will it cost me to be part of the colonies when earth is completely fucked in a few hundred years?

How much money will it cost me to be part of the colonies when earth is completely fucked in a few hundred years?

you sound like literally hitler

I don't understand why you'd think so user

They will look into your bank account and make it just one dollar more than you could possibly afford.

so I'll get two bank accounts.

Your best bet is to help build them

No, cause I'm not that smart. I'm somewhat intelligent but I'm never going to be a scientific innovator.
my best bet is to amass loads of wealth no matter which way you look at it.

I'm gonna go with the equivalent of 80 million today.

anime will not be allowed on colonies

it's a vector for pedophilia

We want you intelligence, not your money you fool

None, in a few decades everything will be fucked because we will have access to enormous computing powers and someone is bound to use it to either:

- Process everyone's personal datas and basically having an omniscient spying machine capable of censoring anything or use it to influence all of the population.

- Stick it directly onto his brain and become an omniscient dictator.

In any case, there won't be any need for human jobs as machines gets more efficient/complex and computers gets better at doing mental tasks than us, we will all be fucked over unless we can pull-out a deus-ex utopian socialist world-government.

Think about it next time you want the world to become a space opera or is happy because you get a faster GPU/CPU.
Even if there's no mad sentient AI, technology might end us.

Out of these two options, I'm gonna go with option one.

>few decades
So in 10 or 20 years.

That also sounds like an extreme waste of a machine.

Nah, I'll be hopeful and say 50 years so I die before that happens
And as long as it as an economically value, I guess that's technically not wasteful

Yeah, most likely option imo

>me
>in a few hundred years
user, I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

>we will all be fucked over unless we can pull-out a deus-ex utopian socialist world-government.

Thanks for the recommendation, Hillary.

Delte this!
Life expansion is around the corner.

You're an idiot if you think this generation will die of old age.

fuck off

No, any scientific person that doesn't glorify aging as some kinda unsolveable problem will know that we will realistically have solved it in the next 50 years. it's not even one of the most advanced problems in medical science.

>I just pulled this idea out of my ass so any scientific person that doesn't think like me is wrong

you realize that we've literally reversed aging in mice which age in the same way as us right? It's just working out the side-effects at this point.

Be a technician, they're useful and you're you can help that way. Techs are a dime a dozen so only the highest skilled will be hired, but it's a better chance than becoming "rich"

>become rich
>pay for 5 scientists
>become scientist
>only be one mediocre scientist

you don't know shit about medicine, stop LARPing

Ok buddy, lol

>You
>Intelligence
Can't use proper grammar, or proper punctuation and is therefore semi-literate. Yet somehow he's a fool? :(

Do not respond to shitposters

techs aren't scientists, but scientists need them. A station will need them. Unless like everything is done by robots, in that case your best bet is to whore yourself out
If society is completely fucked in a few hundred years then we won't have colonies

and even if we did, they'd die soon if society got completely fucked

This is relevant to my interests. I'm not smart enough to be head smart guy on the colony, but I know how to put something I've taken apart back together. What steps would I need to take to become a spacey-grease-monkey?

>Wants everything without having to do anything

Become an investor.

>in a few hundred years
You won't really have to worry then, will you? You'll be dead in less than 100 years.

>The purpose of building machines was to be complex tools to serve for the betterment of all mankind

>Hurrdurr I know everything now, except why I have all these robots.

The only reason this would happen is if one of you Veeky Forums dregs got into power and needed to stroke your ego.

We don't have any idea because we've never built space colonies before. We don't even know where to start because we don't know what technology we're going to have when we start building space colonies which could be 20-30 years from now at the earliest.

I would say, electrical skills are still probably going to be relevant in this time frame. Although space stations are odd. Whereas on earth we use AC for power distribution, most space stations use DC power because of the solar panels.
