Bad taste? Post a good painting then.

Ken fucking Done has been posted. Bad taste? Pfft.

Now that's patrician

Fairly hamfisted and ridiculous. Try Infinite Jest.

shit taste

go on boys

I'd much rather someone posted the Mona Lisa than whatever 19th century garbage dilettantes post on Veeky Forums these days.

T'inquiètes

Diderot for you
Irvine Welsh or Ian McEwan
F Scott Fitzgerald
Jonathan Lethem or Joyce Johnson
Alain Robbe-Grillet

Pretty sure I'm gonna get some Dosto, but what can I do, it's my favorite painting.
pls no dosto

> tfw I always used to think Dali's melted face was supposed to be a platypus until I read more on the subject

No it makes sense. Gatsby's all about the American dream, and that paintings all about a modern national dream.

Try the bible.

Woah....

try to think outside the box
I look at the painting and I don't give a shit about the nationality of its author

...

...

try Judith Butler

someone please rec me books with pretty girls

Lolita

Henri de Montherlant, "Young girls"

gimme somethin' posthuman

Impressionism is the most literary movement.

...

i'd say primitivism, especially for Veeky Forums

...

This painting reminds me of The Pearl by John Steinbeck. (I love Gustav Klimt. I have two prints hung in my house.)

...

...

...

...

Lovely.

...

...

This painting is irksome and cringe.

...

So is this.

...

Alternatively

Unless you're royalty, stick to paintings for the proletariat.
Any real reason this is your favorite?

...

...

Damn.

>Unless you're royalty, stick to paintings for the proletariat
What?
>Any real reason this is your favorite?
Arguable one of the first painters to get oil painting right and produce works the world had never seen before. The detail in the velvet, fur and gold lace together with the scenic background is just so ahead of its time.

...

recc me i need a new book

Okay. Then based off of that, read The Epic of Gilgamesh.

How does royalty figure into this?

Tanakh

It was a joke, bruh because there wasn't much to relate to, which is half the reason a person usually loves a painting. Hence why I said paintings for the proletariat.
But if you like old, unremarkable things that were ahead of their time, Gilgamesh is all day bb

Probably not my absolute favorite but like it pretty well

This is the kind of ambience and aura that I dig.

Very nice.

And this too, things that are realist.

Try some Steinbeck

...

You win, that's the best post. Try The Inferno by Strindberg if you haven't read it yet. He was a friend of Munch's.

You're contrary to the notion of intelligence
