Animals are exceptionally malleable. The russian fox experiment proved that.
Why don't we train an animal to become incredibly smart? The potential cost efficiency of a small large brained animal doing things like data entry is insane. Sure, it would take millions to get an animal to that point, maybe a few billions, but it'd make trillions. Sure, they don't have opposable thumbs, but we could make them tools. How much does a poor chinese villager cost to make shoes all day or work with dangerous chemicals? At least a bag of rice, probably more with chinas growing economy. What about a crow? Like five peanuts and a thimble of water. And we wouldn't have to give China money. It's likely to be doable from a practical standpoint, we know a shit ton of wats to bruteforce intelligence, as well as essential specific genes

>Why don't we train an animal to become incredibly smart?

We already did that with women and then they demanded rights and now they have fucking destroyed society.

youtube.com/watch?v=70GgyJAF8jI yes but crows are cuter

We'd have to genetically engineer an animal to be this or it would have to go through evolution like we did which would take thousands if not millions of years. Impractical with our current technology

yeah, so genetically engineer away. Look up the domesticated russian fox experiment, it was easy as fuck for them, and they didn't have an absurdly high monetary incentive.
idk, but if we do I'll gladly sign up as test subject

When will we use genetical engineering to make catgirls?

>The potential cost efficiency of a small large brained animal doing things like data entry is insane.

Ever heard of computers?

ever heard of data entry? ever heard of office jobs? fun fact, if we could make computers do it all we would not need those sectors.

Also, all we need to is find a way to generate huge sums of electricity using renewable resources or very small amounts of unrenewable ones. Maybe also reduce the pollution we are creating with electricity but with moderation it's manageable just like it is right now in a country like US.
Literally the only reason why data entry animals would be useful is because we'd be using 'machines' that require a small pen to live, some food to survive, and a place to shit. Although at that point we might just create sentience within these animals and essentially just make workers that aren't humans and require very little that's different from human workers.
It isn't very plausible so let's focus on physics with electricity generation, not ecology shit that's fucking stupid and highly theoretical...

>and require very little that's different from human workers.
a crow requires 5 peanutes. Maybe 8 peanuts with a massive brain.
A worker has rights.

I think you're looking for /r9k/, friendo. Good luck with the depression LOL

>Good luck with the depression
Nice projection there buddy

Did you miss the point where I said where we might end up having the same sentience we have? That's the premise behind that statement

even then they would still be more energy efficient, thus be more profitable. you can't just feed workers with electricity, and you can't just replace all work with machines. it's a bad argument to say we should focus on getting more energy as if it's a different side of the same coin.
And if they become sapient we can make them help us with our energy problems

I'm saying that a sentient being will realize human rights and demand their own version of human rights that'll be similar if not the exact same shit. Plus, if they did then it would end up with the same required expenditure on them if not more. Focus on leveling up AI tech and electricity tech...

I assume you don't know anything about /r9k/? That's okay, I forgive you.
(I mean I forgive myself. *Wink*)

that's not a problem. just keep them isolated and afraid. there's no guarantee we'll ever make fully adaptible AI, and making super intelligent crows would be much more cost effective, give the budget we use on micro technology for one year and you'd easily make super intelligent crows. ez

And I assume you are too insecure about yourself to be able to criticize women. Keep putting them on a pedestal buddy. Just call me when you lose your virginity. If it wasn't to a whore or after your 30s then I'll buy you some Mc Donald's.

I doubt it considering that we'd be genetically engineering with genetic material that we don't know the 'code' to. Meanwhile we have a better grasp on AI using technology we created, this is fucking stupid, just stop.

We know lots of essential genetics that make us smart. We've all put these genes individually in mice.
We also know that brain-body ratio is a massively important factor in intelligence, something we could brute force by breeding the bigger brained crows. Crows are already like a billion times more intelligent than mice. it'd be ez.

Is this some kind of alternate reality that I stepped into? Are you trolling?

Wew lad, that projection.

>Wew lad, that projection.
Kek nice.

>NO IT IS YOU WHO IS PROJECTING OT ME REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I rate this post.10/10. It shows no insecurity and is exactly how a healthy person would answer, great job. You got it!

Manufacturing evolution would take forever because we'd have a crow that was more intelligent then the rest, it'd take fucking forever. And like I said, they'd probably end up with the same sentience we have demand rights and stuff we have after we've developed AI that could this all for us.

With a big enough group to breed it wouldn't take that long. You could get every fucking crow in the world with the budget I mentioned before.
And they won't demand rights if we keep them isolated and afraid, as I said. Treat them like shit and never give an inch.

>Animals are exceptionally malleable. The russian fox experiment proved that.
I don't think you need to do an experiment to determine that Russians are animals

No I meant the foxes. You can't breed russians to be intelligent

Sputnik?

No it was a dog that flew in that, not a russian

Underrated

Sputnik was unmanned

Yes but dogs launched it. Also dogs aren't men

Genetically engineering animals to be smart won't mean shit if their anatomy isn't suitable enough to utilize that high intelligence.

Look at dolphins, comparable intelligence to humans but insufficient anatomy to utilize it. Also the crow barely gets a pass because it has its claws and a beak.

>comparable intelligence to humans
TOTAL meme.they're smart but not that smart.
And crows do use tools, just not as refined as humans

>He is on Veeky Forums and have never heard of the fucking term "code monkeys"

If you have heard of code monkeys then why the fuck would post this?

Time and time again people have been posting about stupid primates with hair on places a normal human wouldn't have, entering a program to train them to do mundane things that no rational human actually needs a degree for.

Do I have to cut it out for you or do you get it now?!

No I actually don't get what you're getting at at all

fuck you

like, what where you actually getting at user? that hardly seems relevant to the thread

t. codemonkey major

no like, even pretending your joke is funny, apes wouldn't actually work, they're almost as big or bigger than humans, thus being equally resource efficient

t. guy who thinks he is funny but he is not

Wrong on multiple levels

Resource efficiency isn't the problem, if it is than we can solve it by using computers. And desu, putting an end to these jobs means that poverty and unemployment rises, so create an entirely new field of biology to do this which would only fuck us in the end?

>if it is than we can solve it by using computers.
how will you make humans consume less calories with computers?
And obviously we make crows take over all jobs eventually, meaning no one has to work. you're not gonna get that with computers, technological singularity is unlikely, it's much more realistic to create a slave-race unfit for rebellion.

There's a field of physics based around electricity and it's generation. Using this, we can predict it's be easier to create electricity for computer consumption that in would be to create a new field of biology to bioengineer and entire species to do this work for us. And when I said for us, I mean it in a negative connotation, how will you replace ALL of these workers jobs with something equivalent or more in pay?

Again, this is assuming making programs for every task imaginable(and eventually imaginable) is as easy as making one slave race. It's not. it's not ever gonna happen. you're not gonna make true AI, but you might make a smart bird. obviously birds will interact with computers, they'll just cut out the human element.

Still less efficient than something that can say "if blank says # than put # in blank". There isn't a program for genetically engineering an animal with some intelligence to do this. And you haven't answered how this would benefit us more than cause problems, what about the workers? It would benefit the companies that would replace workers with a functioning model of what you propose but what about workers?

At some point we will have to find a way to tackle worker obsolescence anyways, the wealthier we are when we get to that point the better equipped we will be. It might sound like sacrilege, but there'll probably need to be a slightly socialist system at play

Creating a true AI is stupider than believing that jews are inferior, too many variables for consideration, it would to be able to learn and edit itself to apply learned things, way too far into tech we have right now. Besides, creating something this smart will kill humanity...

Yeah that's what I just said

7 slaves per household. ez.

We did. What do you think slaves were

human. it's about making better, more cost effective slaves. it's about making modern beasts of burden. also slaves are unfortunately no longer an option

>Equating the process of having to manually change genetics on a cellular level to making a bunch of foxes fuck each other for a couple years to make them more domesticated.

Hmm, I wonder if making a bunch of foxes (who have relatively short lifespans compared to ours) fuck each other a bunch of times is cheaper than using absurdly expensive gene editing that we don't know how to fully and reliably utilize yet.

It's literally cheaper to just build more complex machines to do these jobs for us. Machines will work for free, wont disobey a direct order, and will accomplish a task with the utmost efficiency.

Pooling resources to not only feed and utilize another species, but also hold them under a constant military regime is one of the least cost effective things I've ever heard. You'll probably never get your money back on this investment because you'll be constantly throwing millions of dollars into it so the animals don't start breeding bad genetics, revolt, or suddenly refuse to work.

>cheaper to build more complex machines
Yes, but then how will we make zootopia real

>Pooling resources to not only feed and utilize another species, but also hold them under a constant military regime is one of the least cost effective things I've ever heard.
this has been done before and led to a complete obsolence of need for work for the citizenship. ever heard of sparta?
