I think you've got it backwards. Zizek is very characteristic of a typical professor, however that means that he also has this typical professorial stupidity. Idk how to call it, maybe people who have been exposed to academia will now what I mean.
Peterson comes off as more intellectual than a professor, if that's even possible. The vibe he gives off is of a person that he sits in his field so well, that he is a like a virtuoso in his lectures. Sometimes speaking metaphorically, sometimes not as strictly as needed and that is why perhaps people have trouble understanding. He just knows too much, and skips over parts that he finds obvious.

Jung is way more interesting/honest/sincere than Freud.
