Something like this

Hey Veeky Forums I just watched The Tatami Galaxy and I really enjoyed it
Any recomendations of books with the same tone and overwall similar to it?

Tatami Galaxy :^)

Bumping because I enjoyed it as well.

one of my all time favourites.

Same here, watched and the day next rewatched it
Was wondering of any literally works that resamble it

Is there any Tatami Galaxy translation available to download? Does anyone know?

Just subs

pretentious dogshit to be honest family

There was a fan translation floating around a while ago, check the archive.

I'm kind of interested in a book that gets the feeling of going a thousand miles a minute.

Yuasa is the only good TV anime director

My Twisted World, for the "tfw no rose-colored college life".

tatami galaxy has a happy ending though

you all have shittaste
the tatami galaxy is basically "edgy post-modern novel" transposed to anime
you can't deny it since it's painful to see they only cared about the script

>edgy post modern novel

here is, our beloved edgy kid who is still listening MCR and watching every naruto rerun in cartoon network and thinks that umineko is the most gore anime of the world.

>you can't deny they only cared about the script
The visuals were amazing. What is more, is one of the fews animes which take advantage of animation as a medium to tell a story. I'll say it's lack of depth is the weakest point.

yes but it's not as good as the tv series

No actual books, but the Zero Escape and Umineko sound novels use a similar narrative structure but are much more macabre.
Yuasa's other anime Ping Pong the Animation and Kaiba are quite good as well. Kaiba explores the inter-relatedness of memory and self while Ping Pong is about what it means to truly love a sport.

hey man leave umineko out of this it's a bad anime but the vn is a work of art

You can watch Uchouten Kazoku which is an anime based on another novel by the same author who wrote Tatami Galaxy.
There's also Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome but that won't happen until April of this year.

nice projecting fag

>is one of the fews animes which take advantage of animation as a medium to tell a story
>animes
what did you mean by this? It especially isn't since it's most often cheaply drawn or filtered photo shoots

>VN
>work of art

>same tone and overwall similar to it?
What exactly do you mean by this?

The melancholia of university life? 'Taipei' by Tao Lin (yes, yes, it's a meme).

A disjointed and chaotic narrative featuring romance? Check out 'If on a Winter's Night a Traveller' by Italo Calvino.

>see they only cared about the script
i got the exact opposite feeling

t. hasn't read umineko

anime is garbage for manchildren

after reading MTW you go out and make your own happy ending

>Le epic overused plotwist where 3 unrelated characters are one and the same because *pseudoscience bullshit*
Garbage

embarrassing
