After Bob Dylan, why not give a Nobel to Scorsese who is unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
After Bob Dylan, why not give a Nobel to Scorsese who is unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
Who gives a shit about Nobels? Those are completely worthless and arbitrary outside of hard sciences.
Just burn the house down and give it to murakami.
Who gives a fuck anymore?
Because movies aren't poetry you fucking idiot.
because he's not a jew duh
That's not Terrence Malick, OP.
you are a plebeian but i see your point
Let's give it to Charlie Kaufman.
They're visual poetry you pleb.
They are a form of a language.
You're right. They should give one to Kenneth Anger.
No because most of his last movies fucking suck
>Scorsese
>unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
shiggy diggy
What about Stan Lee? Isn't he as important and as Jewish as Bob Dylan?
steven speilberg, quentin tarantino, david lynch, david fincher, christopher nolan, wes anderson, alejandro inarritu, and paul thomas anderson all have better movies than this guy.
Him or Wes Anderson.
I always watch whatever these two put out there.
>who is unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
That's not Michael Mann. Have you even seen Heat my nigger?
Dishonesty ahoy!
made me chuckle
>Spielberg
>Tatantino
>Nolan (not even American)
>Fincher
>anywhere near as good as Scorsese
What the heck, man. Someone get this tremendous turbopleb out of here.
Define "most of his last films".
Silence is true kino.
Martin Scorsese isn't pseudo intelectual or leftist enough, and his films have too much violence and entertainment for the Nobel.
The single director that I think can win the Nobel soon IMO is Goddard.
thanks for acknowledging that lynch and wes anderson are great
Why not give it to your mom for having a fat ass
Godard screenplays are usually terrible, desu.
Not that guy, but he's unbearable pretentious to a pont that if you don't like his works you're the one to blame, and most of his films, even the good ones from the sixties are full of Marxism.
That's why is could be contender for the Nobel.
so is he like the pynchon of the cinema?
Pynchon does not have as much recognition of his peers as Godard (even though some great masters like Bergman and Welles didn't like him). IIRC Godard was considered the second GOAT director after Hitchcock, something that Pynchon could never achieve.
Pynchon doesn't force marxism on his books all the time, neither sees himself as a mastermind of social and political sciences like Godard as well.
Why not give Tony Hawk a Nobel in Physics?
Why not give a Nobel to Donald J. Trump who is unquestionably America's greatest man, as well as author, alive?
Well I mean Bergman and Welles were also considered some of the best, as well as Fellini, Antonioni, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa, Kubrick, among others. Who put Hitchcock and Godard necessarily above them?
Actually I think Welles is more often put second to Hitchcock (and occasionally ahead) than Godard.
>Scorsese who is unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
LOL
this user gets it
lynch anderson and anderson are all better than scorsese
Post your sour reaction when George Lucas or JJ Abrams win it.
Or God forbid, JK Rowling.
They won't, but I guess they're only a step down from Bob Dylan
>worthless and arbitrary outside of hard sciences
>hard sciences
You have to go back.
>are completely worthless and arbitrary
Every award ever is.
Not him, but probably BFI list.
Orson Welles always seems to top their best directors lists though
this guy next
Are people ITT confusing PTA Anderson with Wes Anderson?
The second is atrocious but is receiving too much praise with the first is great but is being ignored.
i mostly agree but life aquatic and rushmore were both good.
shit you're right i forgot about the american thing
George Lucas' films are
They're both heavy stylists. You happen to hate the one and love the other.
>Fantastic film unrelated to either Anderson
Wes Anderson is obviously superior
Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, and Moonrise Kingdom are all way better than anyting PTA made
I don't think anyone mentioned either of them until your post
Twinshia pls be my gf
um i guess you didn't look very hard
After Dylan dissed them, I bet they go with a more traditional choice this year.
>After Bob Dylan, why not give a Nobel to Scorsese who is unquestionably America's greatest movie director alive?
>director
Wouldn't script writers be more relevant? Here's some ideas:
Tarantino
Wes Anderson
Zemeckis
No, because Cinema is a language apart.
Wow good job picking the most atrocious ones possible
