Why do we STILL not have space colonies...

Why do we STILL not have space colonies? What the fuck have scientists even been doing with all their time for the past fifty years?

Talking low of religion instead of admitting that the the belief in the universe is similar to the belief in the God, thus depriving themselves of human capital, namely people who want to believe in a God, so why not turn it aorund, call it universe and make science a religion?
Of course you can't do right away, you might want to have a mythological body shaped in relation to the natural world, like in Tengrism.
Why not make that a world religion?

Ever realized how yurts are pretty much ufos?

why do we NEED space colonies?

We have the science & engineering, just no backing for the actual work.

There's no good logical reason for anything beyond,

Eggs in One Basket
Life Must Always Grow & Expand

As semi nomadic platforms for your yurt to be recharged.

I guess you only need them if you care about things like survival, exploration, and power. You could just stay in one place and replace advancement with magic ritual dancing or something Africa-style.

Dude take your fucking meds. I figured i would reply to this post instead of the other thread because this is the only coherent sentence ive seen from you. Youve gone off the deep end.

>Eggs in One Basket
Thats a pretty damned good reason when the “eggs” are the entirety of the human race.

I can break down what you don't understand, and I don't like pharmaceuticals if it's not absolutely necessary. Why are you triggered in the first place?

Turks are nomadic, they usually give up the conscious participation in Tengrism once settling. The reversal is also thinkable and more relevant than ever, reactivation of Tengrism and then exploring new areas.

Tengrism is super tolerant to other world views, often having united them under one roof, with Turks often times pulling with them whole alien tribes on their way.

Why should we set our eyes on space when there's so much wrong here at home? Until we're able to fix a majority of Earth's problems, there's no need to leave desu.

>dis uber shitty logical fallacy

So because there are lots of problems in the place you're at, that's a reason *in favor* of staying in that one place?

Braintlets pretending to be some enlightened euphoric fedora clad cuck sucker, and namefagging is what triggers me.

>The opening time dimension from tying life ensuring decisions onto reliably, frequently and constantly in intervals recurring celestial phenomena

This is a direct quote that you posted not once, but twice in your other thread. Its schizophrenic rambling if ive ever seen it. I see your delusions of grandeur have set in aswell. If you are trying to scare people away from tengrism by showing them its a religion populated entirely by schizophrenics, you are doing a good job of that.

>Earth's problems

There are none known beyond the expansion of the sun in a few billion years.

It's a reason in favor of attempting to fix that place.

>fuck up earth
>w/e lets go to a colony
>fuck up the colony
>w/e lets go to another colony

These problems will just continue to follow us if we don't address them.

I'll explain it real quickly how it works:

>Tengri
is another term for universe based on the national perception, which is worshipped as the most high infinite, greatest unification with its physical symbol the celestial sphere which is important for navigation and other things.
>Personal evulation
made possible because Tengri is inside of every thing and encapsulates every thing, just like the celestial sphere does with the celestial objects in it, or like the universe's inclusion of everything, thus also us and the home planet. So the connection to Tengri is direct, which means you can do whatever you think is right in the eyes of Tengri which you have to find out for yourself. This doesn't mean law isn't possible but the exact opposite because inside Tengri partitions aren't to individuals but also groups can be viewed as singular entities.
>Töre
The Turkic body and tradition, which this world view gravitates towards. So instead of a book that has been written by human hand, ours has been written by Tengri himself, and needs to be discovered and is never a perfect pciture because only Tengri is complete, thus perfect.

Earth isn't fucked up though.

It's not like there's a limited supply of outer space, you can repeat that process indefinitely.

Are you fucking kidding me? That’s exactly WHY we should leave. It just takes one little conflict on Earth to wipe out every human in the universe. You dont think the race is worth saving apparently.

What's wrong with that? Instead of going apeshit just explain it, maybe I'll agree. You're wasting everyones resources on making this a personal issue. Which is familar, desu, do you come from that forum?

Stop shitposting. This is wildly off topic from the OP.

See

FPSP

>we should leave
How do we even need to discuss this?

You're the ones shitposting off topic right now.

>Why do we STILL not have space colonies?
See, with Tengrism you're getting introduced to a world view that promises accelerating space exploration... and to a nation with a gigantic history of state building over almost the whole Eurasian continent, now retracted to a central position on the planet's surface.
That's the reality.

While you guys tell me to take meds and other off topic stuff. You're just triggered by the term Turk. If it was something similar with a nation you could easier identify with you would jack off to the idea.

White people need a safe space to live in.

Veeky Forums is an 18+ only website.

Because we need to do it before the Chinese do it.

That saddened me a bit, because the topic is really important and you pull the discussion onto a 6 year old's level polluting the minds so it can't even be thought about, even though I think I'm sharing realities, which haven't been refuted yet either.

This is Veeky Forums Science and Math. Not,

Look:
>a nation with a gigantic history of state building over almost the whole Eurasian continent, now retracted to a central position on the planet's surface.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Turkic_dynasties_and_countries
>with Tengrism you're getting introduced to a world view that promises accelerating space exploration
And this is a nation based celestial deism closely related to nomadism.

Religion is kid.

Not necessarily depending on your definition, it becomes a semantical issue. You can't chain yourself onto a semantical issue and tell me I'm not developed enough, tell people where they can go and where not.

And further, if you had a scientific motivation, you would be pragmatic instead of defending a doctrine like a religious nut you accuse me to be.

so readers of the thread, give it a thought, because in my töre (tradition) I can finde Turks pulling over other tribes or nations or human entities for furthering the cause, which in this case is reactivation of Tengrism and space exploration is a central topic since we're nomadic, used to carry everything we need with us, and most of earth has been explored already.

>Eggs in One Basket
I'd argue this is a reason NOT to have space colonies. Human race is fucking up the planet Earth, and they're either going to realize this shit needs to stop because there's nowhere else for us to go, or they're going to make a space colony and the 1% will escape and leave the 99% of the human race to die in a toxic wasteland.

The human race isn't responsible enough to have space colonies. If we build them we'll just destroy ourselves.

We need both, or else we won't get up.

>they're either going to realize this shit needs to stop because there's nowhere else for us to go
I love this option, because it's the only one we really have

What a defeatist mindset. You are a terrible person.

There are events in the universe that are beyond our control. The responsible thing is to protect the planet to our abilities AND create a backup plan.

>or they're going to make a space colony and the 1% will escape and leave the 99% of the human race to die in a toxic wasteland.
Don't be stupid. Space is never going to compare to Earth, it is way too hostile. Besides, Earth is done. DONE! It is 4.5Gy old, it has 1, maybe 2 tops, Gy before the sun fucks up the surface for good. So, instead of crying about how we are "muh destroying the mother natur", you should start thinking how we are life's last hope of outlasting the planet. How do you rate the likelihood of another sentient species evolving upon the wreckage of an asteroid hit earth? And upon that, of said species being more benign than humans? And upon that, of them inventing space travel before they themselves get wiped out one way or another? I'll tell you the chances: none! So stop bitching about the destruction of the planet because it is already a consummated fact and start making worth on all the 3.5Gy of previous organisms that allowed you to grow a big enough brain to escape this gravity well and take some plants and animals with you for the ride.

You are welcome, other terrestrial life forms.

...

another shot at better humanity

>Why do we STILL not have space colonies?
because (((them)))

That pic is such a waste of space. It will probably be more like several 3m high stories of corridors and rooms stacked upon each other, growing radially as the need arises.

>What the fuck have scientists even been doing with all their time for the past fifty years?
Producing the modern world and your easy-mode life.

>That pic is such a waste of space.
Yes, but romanticism is the beginning of every dream.
>It will probably be more like several 3m high stories of corridors and rooms stacked upon each other, growing radially as the need arises.
Probably not, because at equal rotation speed it'll very quickly change the artificial gravity quite profoundly. A 2 RPM rotating space station (which is the generally agreed on maximum rotation speed to avoid motion sickness due to the coriolis effect in the inner ear) will have Earth gravity at roughly 223.5m radius and Venus gravity at roughly 202.25m radius, that's already a 10% difference across only seven stories, not at a lot at all in megastructure terms. The "gearing" could be finer with a 1 RPM rotation, but then the radius would need to be four times as large, and so would be the circumference and therefore the amount of building materials, so if anything, the 2 RPM radius would probably prevail for hypothetical rotating space stations given the hardship of construction, possibly with a lower radius than 223.5m and therefore lower gravity if it's found nondamaging to the human body long term to go to 0.9g or 0.8g or maybe even 0.5g. You could always increase floor area by increasing width, so that it would become less of a ring and more of a tube.

dude im going to send you a psychic message later

be prepared on the receiving end

you'll know what that means when the time comes

cant say any more i think theyre watching us

check all your wires in your house and make sure not to drink any of the tap water

over and out

We don't even have control over Earth and you're already thinking of space colonies. Fucking star wars faggots.

>What the fuck have scientists even been
doing with all their time for the past fifty years?
You have Internet. You have a cellphone.
Your car has a computer, and GPS. The
National Weather Service (NWS) warns
people to evacuate a week before a hurricane.
Therapy is available for cancer, diabetes, and
a host of other maladies. What the fuck do
you think scientists have been doing with all
their time for the past fifty years, you fucking
moron?

Here this has been written a bit more cautiously: So you can see there's nothing to fear.

...

eruption of supervolcanoes can spell the destruction of the human race and estimates are officially bullshit after harvey hit texas.

THIS

>babby troll logic

Sure thing, kid.

That isn't a problem for the Earth. That's a problem for humanity. Earth doesn't matter in that respect. It is doomed by the sun. Which is why we need to get the fuck out there and scatter. Sitting on our thumbs just means we are doomed no matter what we do.

Which part, at least tell me what about it and how it makes no sense...

This is retarded
Going to space will help solve earths problems, not doing them will make the problems worse.

Ask yourself this question.

Let's say you are a globalist oligarch (anyone really running the show in the last decades).
Your goal is to enslave everyone under yourself.
Everyone should obey your global government, use your one world currency, stick to your financial system only, conform to your ideal society while you are in complete control of the situation.
Would you invest in space colonisation?

Except for recurring asteroid impacts that wiped out 50-90% of all species every 100 million years or so in the past.

see

Fuck you and your "humans are shit and deserve to die" bullshit.

Well in the scheme of things the 1% will be the pinnacle of humanity and so their survival whilst 99% of others die will be a golden moment on existence.

Why do we need agriculture? We were fine stabbing animals in the wilderness.

Well that's fucking boring.

We just build a gigantic yurt around it and reposition.

>two earths will have less problems than 1 earth

>Why should we set our eyes on space when there's so much wrong here at home?
Why should you go to work when there's dust under the fridge?

Why isn't the schizo b& if he's obviously derailing threads?

I'm no saging this thread, just left the name there on accident

go read Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson, pretty much encapsualtes your sentiment

learning to dilate a dismemberment to resemble a vomited up vagina, unfortunately

nice subliminal jewdump chaim

It would open up new possibilities for humanity.
One possibility that is often overlooked is a political one: in space you can build new nations, maybe even based on ideas that are minority on earth.
I don't believe much into the survival thing though.
Earth isn't going to die so easily, even a nuclear war isn't an extinction level event.
The real danger of extinction could come from a bioweapon: imagine an airborne HIV that spreads and remains silent for years.
It could wipe out humanity well before we could develop a cure.
Any weapon of that kind is unlikely not to reach space colonies too.

Space isn't real.

>you're all shit so why bother

this

I think that it is good that we have not discovered extraterrestrial life because it leaves us to keep imagining alien life, and if we knew we would stop imagining.

Agriculture improved people's quality of life. Living in a space colony would not.

Absolutely true. Specialization has power! Two earths would mean two earths worth of sapient problem-solvers working with two earths worth of resources to make life better in every way they could.

this shit is posted in every fucking thread
and they eat it every fucking time

>manufacturing and mining fucks up the planet
>so all of that is moved off world
>now nothing fucks up the planet
>have garbage
>the recycling technologies developed to make the space colonies efficient and sustainable are copied on earth
>all garbage is now useful equipment again
please drink bleach, you're dragging the average IQ of your nation down a few points

because you aren't reporting his posts like you should

So what do you propose?
Get a scientist and a couple of engineers + architect under him to design this?!

Explain how it wont specifically so I can refute every point you make

replace the scientist with more engineers and you'd be right
That's how designing things work
the engineers design it and make it work, architect polishes the design to make it not look like ass

>What the fuck have scientists even been doing with all their time for the past fifty years?
computers

don't worry, psychopathy and jewishness will be long gone by the time we're able to do mass colonies

This is why socialism is a threat to humans as a species.

Colonizing the solar system hedges our species bets against natural disaster and self destruction.

Ever heard the term better not keep all your eggs in one basket?

Asteroid mining will incentivize developing the technologies needed for colonizing the solar system which will then strengthen the position of humans long term.

>says the genocidal psychopath

this guy gets it

Because for exponential population growth you need exponential resources. We are already to the point where overpopulation has reduced American quality of life.

So to maintain quality of life you must either keep population at a steady state or expand.

If you killed every low IQ and enforced population (fertility) controls you could do it. Otherwise space colonies or watch the world go to shit.

Low intelligence doesn't survive long near vacuum.

theres a shit ton of resources in the middle of america fucktard. same with australia,

people r just too lazy to move there so they overpopulate the coasts

more genocidal edgy teenager psychos

u kno there are other things to do with poor people besides gassing them

u sound like the elites which advocate for starting a nuclear war in order to have a refresh on civilization

it's not the scientists fault, it's the politicians and the average greed lord

youtube.com/watch?v=yb2Dxqt1oag

nasa retards hate digging into the ground for whatever reason.

all we have to do is dig down 20 feet and there's less radiation than on earth with some nice thermal insulation on top of that.

There is a shit ton of resources but you're losing quality of life. For one simple crowding lowers quality. This isn't just about feeding this is giving people a meaningful job with a home and small family.

If we don't have space colonies that hellhole you described of either Haiti or elite neofedualism enslaving everyone.

But pretend I'm the edgelord for pointing out that we're living in the middle of the mouse Utopia experiment.
