Why is Korea so uninventive and a cultural wasteland?

Why is Korea so uninventive and a cultural wasteland?
No literature. No philosophy. Just a bunch of girls and dudes all dressing casual. All thinking casual. No difference. No extremities. No creativity.

They make super entertaining revenge thrillers

vidya.....basically the mass pacification of the , um, masses by the medium of vidya.

She's pretty qte t.bh

I would marry her for a green card

East Asians don't have souls, its not just a meme

They have some good filmmakers

to be fair, they did invent an alphabet

capitalism

And great action films.

The dude on the left, that's how 80% of Korean guys dress in autumn/winter.
It's insane how they all have the same long black jacket and sweater.

Korea is something strange. In Taiwan, China or even Japan, I didn't see people being this monolithic.

There are too many people in this world.

They're like a large Singapore. Although Singaporeans aren't this grey. A whole load of them are like Bay Area tier hipsters of the region.

Korea is a nation of shitfarmers and salarymen, so wrapped up in somatic distraction (be it their numerous pop-star prostitutes and prostitute pop-stars, outmoded games peddled to them by Activision, a company that's losing its relevance in the West, or their crablike attempts climb up the social ladder) that they have no thought to the pursuit of legitimate art, much less the ability to create it.

You're describing a STEMsperg's paradise.

But they dress better than anyone in America. Have you seen yourself in the mirror lately?

Korea is the elites' test monkey for ideas they're planning on doing in the West.

Then why does China have such a rich literary and artistic tradition?

they are the not fun allowed version of japan

>Why is Korea so uninventive and a cultural wasteland?
Like most of the world they were poor peasants too concerned with substance to do much of anything else. Korea only stopped being an africa-tier shithole during Jap colonization.

>Then why does China have such a rich literary and artistic tradition?

It doesn't. The Chinese language itself is a sterile joke unfit for literature and even philosophy

lol

Required reading for those interested in this thread, especially since it won the first Man Booker International for Translated Works last year.

Asians don't have souls.
They are taught to repress passion and act like machines.
Their only traditions are in this aspect of repression their human feelings.
See: Zen, Confucianism, Taoism, Tea ceremonies, Calligraphy, Art, Vidya.

They are less human than animals are.

Buddhism isn't about repressing passion you idiot. It's about finding the middle ground.

Christianity on the other hand. I really thought Veeky Forums was better then this.

>better than this
>THAN

You are not making it any better either, Freundchen.

English isn't my first language. Du Hurensohn

99% of America is illiterate. And they can't read numbers.

>Buddhism isn't about repressing passion
> It's about finding the middle ground.

Where do people keep getting this bullshit from

Some light googling and wikipedia would really educate you on the subject matter you are trying to talk about

That is not a valid excuses, Brüderlein.

>a valid excuses

got you now fuckboy

>No literature. No philosophy. Just a bunch of girls and dudes all dressing casual. All thinking casual. No difference. No extremities. No creativity.
sounds perfect desu, sounds like the highest stage of evolution

>99% of America is illiterate
Could you not hyperbole out your ass? If we are going to play that game then 99% of Koreans are plastic, 99% of British people have messed up teeth, and 99% of Africans have aids.
>And they can't read numbers.
This is true enough.

>country with the highest alcoholism by far and abysmal depression and suicide rates caused by inhumane working culture

This is what capitalism does.

Gnon is cold.

Basically it states that there's no such thing as Western culture anymore, because to live in a highly industrialized society requires conformance to a "Universal Culture" or an "Industrial Culture," which basically says you can do whatever in the privacy of your own home, which is in the metaphor an island in the overall archipelago, and when you go out into the ocean (mingle with others in the public spaces of the industrialized world) you don't bother people with attempts to impose your ethics on them.

It makes a really good case for the idea that what we call "Western Civilization" is really just "Industrial Civilization," and that China and the Middle East will be just like us in every way that matters as soon as industrialization hits, because that is literally the only cutlure that makes sense in a heavily industrialized space, and all other cultures are outcompeted.
The author asks people in the West, "When was the last time you twirlled around a maypole, or celebrated the Spring Solstice?"
To which the usual answer is "Never have I ever done this."

Basically, the only universal ethical tenet WILL be "Don't fuck with other people in public spaces, do your own thing in private ones." Right now there are no universal ethical tenets.

Everything is a bland copy of the already bland American culture.

See: Kpop.

I knew you were a Gook dishitty

All the asians at my university dress retardedly like this

Fuck. ok. I give up with this stupid game.

>Basically, the only universal ethical tenet WILL be "Don't fuck with other people in public spaces, do your own thing in private ones."

To take two examples, neither Japan nor America recognise this principle.

In Japan you are expected to be friends with your co-workers and even your boss. That means social drinking, karaoke or similar together on a regular basis. With your boss and that guy in the cubicle next to you who doesn't know how to break wind silently. It's not so much that the workplace is friendly as that private life is made formal and tense. Meanwhile, when a Tokyo subway is being poisoned by sarin gas, and someone drops to the floor, you do not approach them or ask them about their state of health. If a number of people do this, you keep silent, but start to get nervous and think about getting off the train early. Then your vision gets faint, and you die of sarin poisoning, or possible stagger into your office early to get extra work done so that your boss appreciates your Sincerityâ„¢

American, meanwhile, encourages ethical snooping and other such interference in public places. If a man and a woman are arguing, an american male often feels an urge to go intervene, and sometimes even does. Old ladies are offered arms to cross the street. Fixing your car in a suburb is considered an open invitation for all neighbourhood men to walk into your yard and make helpful comments. If you suspect a neighbour of questionable or criminal activity, you knock on his front door and give him a piece of your mind, or call the cops. Pies are presented to strangers who move into suburbia. Noses are stuck into every conceivable matter. For individualists, they have no respect whatsoever for privacy. In fact, the much vaunted individualism of the US mostly seems to consist of pushiness, nosiness, back slapping, and lack of shame.
