Is this book actually any good or is it just a meme?

I love it, the way it's sort of in this parallel dimension where everything is shit.
It is funny while it still has this great sense of sadness hanging over it.
The language is great, many of the metaphors he uses are amazingly funny and yet very striking. It is however not an easy book to read; the dialect makes parts hard to understand without reading the notes and the same goes for many of the more obscure references.

I don't really recommend it to people desu since most are put of by the sex and violence and can thus never appreciate its other qualities.
