Can we get a Yugoslav literature appreciation thread?

Can we get a Yugoslav literature appreciation thread?

Sartre said that if he had read Krleža's Filip Latinovicz first, he would not have bothered writing Nausea.

>implying yugos refer to their literature as yugoslav literature

Come on, you well know they think in terms of national literature.

A lot of us actually do, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

>lot of us

you are either serb or diaspora

>Yugoslav literature
>the best work was done before even the idea of Yugoslavia was even concieved, by people who never considered themselves Yugoslavians

hmmm

Stop discussing literature I can't find on libgen.

>tfw absolute lowest tier of white people

Danilo kis is goat

Nope, actually we don't. Maybe you're talking about literature from Yugoslavian era, but that's something else, there never was a common Yugoslav literature. Plenty of Partisan literature after ww2, but again you can't put them in the same bin simply because of language differences.

Nice, I love that book. Krleža is great in general, I'm planning to read Vučjak and see it in HNK soon

Jovan pls

If you speak croatian you can dl a shitton of classics from elektire

>Nice, I love that book. Krleža is great in general, I'm planning to read Vučjak and see it in HNK soon

i refuse to believe you are real person

Why?

because nobody likes krleža or reads him beside highschool, he is like croatian james joyce in a sense but in bad way and nobody reads him

>shitty translation, but prophetic nonetheless, written before ww1, italian front and isonzo battles

You are splendid, limpid daughter of the heights,
You are graceful in your natural beauty,
When your transparent depths
Are not disturbed by the
Wrath of darksome storms,
You are splendid, limpid daughter of the heights!
Your course is lively and gentle
Like the walk of highland girls,
You are serene as the mountain air,
You are loud as the vigorous
Chant of the highland youth –
You are splendid, daughter of the heights.
I like to look into your lively waves,
These green-blue waves;
The dark green of highland grass
And the cheerful azure of the heights
Have flown together with delight;
From the dew of the blue skies,
From the dew of green mountains,
You have drunk your beauty –
You are splendid, daughter of the heights.
You are my most dear friend!
When you rustle down from mountain woodlands
You seem a messenger from home,
Carrying plenty of dear greetings –
May God welcome you amidst the plains! …
How dearly and loudly you murmur,
How stalwartly and soundly you bound
When you still flow through the mountains!
But when you clatter down to the flatlands,
Why do you lose your lively joy?
Why do you flow tiredly and slowly,
Why are your voices sad?
Is it hard to part from the mountain range,
The cradle of your waves?
Do you know you are passing by the graves,
The graves of Slovene homeland?
A double grief you suffer here!
In this grief, mournful and sluggish,
You seem like a big tear to me;
But even as tear – splendid!
You are splendid, limpid daughter of the heights,
You are graceful in your natural beauty,
When your transparent depths
Are not disturbed by the
Wrath of raging storms!
But, alas, my poor child,
A dreadful storm, a horrible storm
Is threatening you;
It will storm in from the warm south,
It will rage through the fertile plain
Nourished by your waters –
Woe!, that day is not far.
A clear arch will stretch above you,
Around you a hail of lead,
Rain of blood and streams of tears,
Lightning and thunder – oh, stifling battle!
Bitter steel will strike upon these lands,
And you will flow full of blood:
Our blood will nourish you,
The enemy’s will muddy you!
Remember then, limpid Soca,
The commands of your fervid heart:
All the waters stored
In the clouds of your skies,
All the waters in your highlands,
All the waters of your blossoming plains,
Rush it all up at once,
Rise up, froth in a dreadful stream!
Do not confine yourself within the banks,
Rise wrathfully over the defences,
And drawn the foreigners ravenous for land
To the bottom of your foaming waves!

>croatian james joyce
No, Joyce is Ireland Krleza, you fucking pleb

>Ireland
2/10 try harder, even the biggest retards know joyce was british

lol

What?

>nobody likes krleža
Gospoda Glembajevi is very popular. Even in high school my generation enjoyed it. "Khevenhiller" is a bit of a meme too. The rest of his works, particularly Filip Latinovicz, are more difficult but obviously highly regarded by serious readers. Just because you've had a shitty prof who made you hate him doesn't mean everyone did.
>nobody reads him
Simply untrue

that's not even a real country

Elektire is the best.

Croat.

I'm from Zagorje and I hated Ballads of Petrica Kerempuh first time I read it in high school, but now I realize it's one of the best Croatian poetical works ever written.

Has anyone read Davičo or Racin?

>diaspora
When is it in HNK?

Nepovezano s dijasporom.

Just don't go to Gavella, I've seen Crime and punishment there last year. It sucked big time.

fact: Slovenians are the only truly White nation in the former Yugoslavia. The rest are basically turks

Gavella is a mixed bag, I don't think you should judge it after seeing only one play. A Midsummer Night's Dream with Pero Kvrgić was great (the only classical play that I've seen that was modernized properly). Kolovoz u okrugu Osage and Malena are very good recent pieces as well, I can recommend them.
But yeah, that C&P was pretty weak.

I'll try to catch the performance 22nd this month. They have a schedule on their site, you can look it up.

>The rest of his works, particularly Filip Latinovicz, are more difficult but obviously highly regarded by serious readers

go back to /v/ kiddo troll

Is there anything similar to Interliber?

if not serb you are some other minoriy

Is there a way to get poems published in Croatia?

Nope.

i think its easy but it will be like 1000copies and nobody will read it besides your friends

Yeah, but the good thing is I know people from a popular independent publishing house, so they could boost the sales, or something. But nobody cares about poetry.

Nice one, Janez!

Any recommendations of literature from other developing countries?

...

Ljudi i dalje čitaju poeziju na ovim prostorima? Niko neće ni pogledati to, nažalost...

Barem bih mogao uglazbiti pjesme.

Bazirano.

Hvala.

>Bazirano
Ponekad se osjećam pretenciozno.

Ponudi pozorištu da postave predstavu

Koje su šanse da se to desi?

Pa ne znam, možda im se svidi. Možda je upravnik neki entuzijasta, veruje u mlade. Lupam gluposti, zapravo nemam pojma kako to funkcioniše.

Ispušili smo ga i Srbi i Hvrati.

Bolje ista nego nista

Begovićev Pustolov pred vratima obavezno.

Našao sam prvu ediciju na tavanu.

>Većina toga
Neka, hvala.

Što bi stavili od Slovenaca? Oni baš i nemaju najbolju književnost.

this pic though

Za sljedeći Interliber trebamo učiniti svoj Veeky Forums štand.

Serb or self hating Croat.
Diaspora is almost always nationalist.

Does everyone have to be a patriot?

Zato što nisu narod frende

Дa.

Misliš meetup?

Calling Croat literature Yugoslav is going far beyond contradictig patriotism bre.
Osobito glupo s obzirom da nisu imale doticaja do početka do dosta kasno.

И штo? Tpeбao бих мpзити Cpбe caмo зaтo штo caм Хpвaт?
