I have friends who literally smoke weed everyday or do some drug, typically percocet, everyday. While I don't have anything against such things every once in a while, it's gotten to the point where they feel incomplete without their drugs. They have straight up told me that they hate their "sober self" and that being sober is unbearable and that being sober is to be depressed. What can I do for them?

Nothing. They'll change if they want to.

It's like asking how to help a fat person get thin. There are resources available to help them, but there's nothing you can do if they won't even try.

Psychs are the patrician drug, this is an undeniable fact.
Weed isn't inherently bad but it bores me personally and a huge number of people become psychologically dependent. I wouldn't touch stims because of potential heart problems or opioids because of life-ruining addiction.
If people had the opportunity to take regulated, tested psychs in a controlled environment, I think it would improve the disposition of a huge portion of people who currently have emotional problems.
