unibomber was right

First off, are you trying to read things you genuinely want to read? Are you doing research on things you're genuinely interested in?

In most cases like this, it seems people just try to read books only for their meme value, or because it's a classic that "has to be read." No offense to the classics, but if you're forcing yourself on them you're going to be miserable.

remember to always blame your problems on external sources

...

I don't entirely agree with the perspective that you should only read what you're interested in. Literature is an acquired taste, like many other things it's not just hedonism there is work you need to do but if you force yourself past the tough beginning you'll expand your interests and horizons greatly. You SHOULD feel you have to read some things, you should feel you have to explore in most mediums, without that feeling you're going to be stuck in your own shit moving nowhere listening to the same music playing the same games talking to the same people keeping the same hobbies for the rest of your life.
Tough it out OP it gets better.

I dunno, i started off by forcing myself for the meme and now i reallyenjoy reading.
Or at least i think i do maybe ive just tricked myself.

Just keep reading. I had my brains turned into mush because of spending my entire adolescence shitposting on Veeky Forums, antidepressives and alcohol abuse and worst of all anime. At first just reading more than an one-liner requires massive effort like trudging through a swamp of cow shit, but slowly it becomes easier as your peabrain adapts itself to being used again and you finally feel the pleasure of reading 15 pages in one page like a pro, 1st place at the tard olympics.
I'm still mostly a mongoloid but now I can keep up a decent reading schedule and finish books in less than an year. Close your pornhub tabs, turn off your monitor, leave your Iphone7® somehwere, go someplace else if you need, cut-off all the possible distractions you can

>was too poor to afford a smartphone until senior year of college
>have one now
>immune to it, missed the youth sponge period of prime brainwashing
>don't even use data
>phone is about 5 generations old by now
>laugh at phone zombies and people who "read" for half a minute then go back to browsing twatterbook on the mobile jew
>can destroy a book in a single day

You can't be Veeky Forums if you were born middle class.

>was well off enough to have a smartphone since early teens
>have one now
>immune to it, grown out of youth period of playing games and browsing social media for maymays
>use data for news, email and IM
>phone is as new as it gets
>laugh at frugal retards and people who "don't need one"
>more well read than you will ever be

You can't be Veeky Forums if you were born assblasted poorfag with inferiority complex.

>>more well read than you will ever be

>thinks browsing CNN's twatter feed makes him "well read"

Good job, I had to double check what board I was on.

I'd never thought I'd be jealous of someone who grew up on an income a fraction of the one I grew up on.

>projecting this hard
Stay pleb, my mang. Most Veeky Forums memes you post about so excitedly I've read in my teens. One day you will realize that your rationalizations are silly and working class upbringing has zero advantages in real world.

...who are you talking to? I've never mentioned any books I've read, "meme" tier or not.

>zero advantages

From the look of it, you don't consider reading comprehension an advantage.

heads up, it's the *Una*bomber, not uni- like singular. UNA (UNiversites & Airports) - his choice targets.

Heads up, its actually UNAbomberS. Kaczynski directly stated in his manifesto that he identified by the pronoun "we".

I'm convinced that most writers of the past were unnecessarily long-winded. Most philosophy texts could be significantly shortened without losing any of the content. The IQ of human beings continually rises, which is why older writings are often so boring and shitty. We are able to say in a few sentences what they take chapters to say.

He said "we" to make it look like it was a group.

>I can only read the Wikipedia page cuz reading actual primary source is boringgg

Lmao

>middle class
>not bourgeoisie

as the French say
