My wife introduced me to those. I didn't know those were real tacos, I always figured Taco Bell shit was the real deal.

Only main reason I don't like real tacos too much is that too often I get chewy peaces of meat in there. Hate that shit.

What's the best fat to use in taco tortilla's?
Just lard? Or a mixture of lard and shortening?
I can't seem to get pure lard tortilla's to be nice and soft, any tips?

You don't need lard my dude. This is just personal experience but I've never seen anyone put lard in the masa for corn tortillas.

For me, it's 5 rolled tacos w/ cheese and guacamole from Filibertos

Fajitas use flour also, but aren't actually Mexican. They are southwestern.
Chimichangas use flour, because they're just a deep fried burrito with sauce and also not Mexican, but southwestern.

I'm Hispanic and I'll say in all honesty, any variations of tacos (even Tex Mex) can be good, if whatever meat you're using is prepared good, seasoned well but not excessive, and paired with fresh vegetables.

I get this style of tacos from an authentic place down the street but I've literally NEVER been able to re-create them and the lady there won't give me her secret. It's a small family owned joint.

Tried a giant chicharron fried with a bunch of meat attached, put that bitch in a fresh corn tortilla with salsa, lime, cilantro and onion. Got it in KCK at a little hole in the wall spot. Absolutely delicious and I'd never seen that before. Any of you guys try this?????
