Are there any "so bad they're good" books?

Has there ever been a book so bad that it ends up good, Veeky Forums?

I doubt it. Reading requires more mental work than watching a film.

all of the meme trilogy is actually pretty bad by modern entertainment standards.

wrong

Amanda McKittrick Ros

What makes it bad and what makes it enjoyable?

yes its a deep movie but no it does not require as much work as a novel.
i understood it completely after my second viewing. 4 hours. much less work than a novel

That's six hours. You can't even do basic math. You probably didn't even watch it kek

you think i have it fucking memorized you shit head?
i probably understand it better than you moron.

>i understood it completely
You think you did

no i know i did. ask me about it.

What are you even on about? You really are as dumb as you depict yourself.

you dont have nearly enough info to make that assumption tardo.

You didn't even know the movie was three hours long. There's nothing to ask you

cuz i saw it 5 years ago, was obssessed with it and then was done with it, happy with my memories like a reasonable person?
did you just watch it for the first time or something?

No, you think you do. You are not David Lynch, so you don't 'know'

nuke this thread

what if i know how david lynch does his work? what if i knew his passions somewhat personally?
what if i had insight you definitely dont?

You are talking about how well you understood it. Then you say you were obsessed with it. You thought it was two hours when it's three. That's quite a large disparity.
Are you starting to realize how stupid you are yet?

My diary, desu

Finnegans Wake

im definitely smarter than you, trust me.
i was obsessed with the metaphors and symbolism.
i rewatched scenes over and over.
probably read the synopsis 100 times.
but that does not mean i remember the run-time or that im stupid in any way you insecure dummy.
what disparity? your lack of information?

>Probably read the synopsis 100 times.
Is your comprehension that bad?

>hyperbole
>not knowing about OCD

it's fun to me.

seriously ask me about any seemingly random thing in the movie and i can tell you what its supposed to represent (sometimes its abstract, sometime its literary, sometimes it's referencing the medium itself)
its a fun movie to analyze

what is up with the light bulbs

specifically?
the red one in the phantoms mouth?
colors are important.

>the red one in the phantoms mouth?
yeah, sure. Explain my friend

Why isn't Laura Dern my qt 3.14 gf and why does it feel so bad, man :(

The fact this comeback didn't explicitly deny the dude's claim, but left it open ended, made me laugh. Thank you.

Why do you feel the need to attack me? I'm not saying I know better than you, I'm just saying you don't know for a fact. You can have a pretty good grasp, you just don't know.

like i said, a lot of is abstract, that's how it works
but light is a big part of the movie, as its a really self-conscious film and light is a big part of sight and image, but specifically the bulbs represents the "show". the red bulb in the phantoms mouth basically represents invention and the kind of light we as humans make. think of red and it's associations. its in the phantoms mouth
i could explain better but fuck you
turn of the screw is a big part of the movie and i assume most people probably dont know that.
now leave me alone.

Not really. I've read short stories like that, but I doubt that kind of enjoyment is sustainable for very long.

Lovecraft and Howard. Possibly Delaney

>dude i could explain but i won't fuck you

hmmm....... really makes me think

lynch is not to be understood. he creates by intuition and inland empire is like, guerrilla surrealism.

im not gonna write the essay.
its not that complicated.
lynch's style is pretty basic metaphors in a way.
is like he strips things down to their fundamental forms.

My top pick

Conan the Barbarian

DUDE FUCK HOLLYWOOD LMAO

its really not hard to understand...

vollman fans say this about his work, except it actually never ends up being good, its just shit all the way through

The Eye of Argon
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eye_of_Argon

Lovecraft's hokeyness is part of the appeal. I don't know if that makes it bad.

huh that isn't right
