First guess was that they are smarter. But then I realized, muricans also had many jews, so I think it's because murican intellectuals are spoiled and lazy and Russian aren't.

I think maybe its because hard times created men with deeper thoughts in russia whereas in america, comfort and wealth made the society entirely shallow. Whadyousay?
This. Hardship breeds expression, like art and religion. Just like how the ghetto bred out jazz and hip-hop.

The idea of 'suffering leads to ART' is absolutely retarded and BTFO by history itself. Look at the greatest works of western canon, and you will find nothing but rich white men who never had to work a day, often owned slaves, serfs, servants, land etc If hardship brought mastery, we'd all be reading African Ooga Booga Canon right now.

Not really. Look at the most iconic English writers of all time: Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton. Only Milton was rich, but he didn't own slaves, his servants were his children, and his entire motivation to write was to violently overthrow all monarchies, aristocracies, and hierarchical church leaderships.
All that being said, Chaucer was a civil servant and Shakespeare and Milton were both well patronized, though Paradise Lost was mostly (entirely?) composed while he was dealing with blindness. Can't imagine that was terrible easy for the time, though I wouldn't call it "suffering".
Daniel Nelson
This is true, the two are incomparable: American imperialism has done far, far more harm than "Stalinism" could ever imagine.
Jose Walker
>it's a delusional commietard defends stalinism episode Okay, no need to elaborate.

But I'm not, I'm stating the historically obvious fact that Americans have been far and away the more destructive state. Even the most over-bloated meme body count numbers for Stalin can't possibly compare to the US's.

American imperialism has killed millions of sand niggers. Stalin killed even more millions of his own people. Only one can be worse than the other.

Considering that Russia even had the best composers during the 20th century, I'm inclined to agree with you. No american composer from the 20th century can compete with Sergei Prokofiev's genius.

>Rachmemeinoff >Shitstakovich >bitchaturian >unironically prokofiev and the other literally whos like mosolov and kabalevsky you may have had more of a point if you didn't say "of the 20th century," before the soviets ruined art. Stravinsky is undoubtedly based. And yes I suppose few 1900s american artists are worth a mention except for a few meme minimalism wankers.
Lucas Rodriguez
I also forgot to mention Jascha Heifetz, who is without a doubt the greatest violinist of all time. The arts were very much thriving in Russia during the 20th century, and to unironically say otherwise is a meme.
