"We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness."

they gon party on the sun

Why are socialists and liberals obsessed with this book as of the 2016 election? Do they not realize that they're on the wrong side if they want to apply the plot of this book to real life?

They fail to realize that Trump is Emmanuel Goldstein, not BB.

No, they are not self aware enough. It is part of their personalities

I'm not a socialist or liberal, I just like the book and I wanted to see what you anons had to say about this part of it.

That's okay, user. Thanks for posting in it. :~)

Bump.

Jesus, kid. Were you not even alive during 2012 or 2008?

These books get brought up every fucking election cycle.

And the people that bring it up probably still haven't read it

It was obviously a reference to the ministry of truth you fucking tard

you guys realise goldstein wasn't real i hope

They are on the wrong side, but so are the Trumpists and alt-wrongs.

They mean at a workplace

iirc the lights were always on at their workplace. shit book.

It's implied to mean O'Brien's 'excursion' into Winston's head removes any shadows of privacy, exposing Winston and his individuality to the seering light of the Inner Party

they will meet in their imaginations as no real place has no darkness (they will not meet at all, physically, but imagine themselves meeting each other)

I always thought he was alluding to their future meeting near the end of the book where he was prying and trying to show him ''the light'' of bb. any other answer is very plebeian and stupid thanks

I thought the book was saying that people are cowardly and lazy to take action when the things that would take their freedom are not quick in doing so. By the time people realize that their freedom has been taken away, it's already too late. People won't rebel against something that is only beginning to become controlling of them.

Trump isn't real
