What is some essential reading for people who are smart but lazy?

Slacker genius protagonists preferred

Damn, honestly you're probably way to smart for any book anyone can recommend you. Maybe just read the dictionary and reconstruct every conceivable book in your mind.

this to be honest

Veeky Forums.

stop indulging this fantasy and improve yourself.

>smart but lazy
doesnt exist

While you sit on your ass jerking your pride, those people you deem stupid and inferior are getting shit done actually living their lives.

>whisperposting
Compare yourself to a real or theoretical non-human intelligence for once and you will see that 1) you are not exceptionally smart in the plane of intelligences and 2) if you can't empathize with lower intelligences it proves the natural imperfections of your psyche that are neither universal nor unique among sapiences

start with marx. he was a genius like us, brother.

>smart but lazy

I think the fundamental problem is not that we are lazy, but that we are not genuinely interesting in those things that we believe we should learn. For some reason, we see it as a duty to learn, yet we don't truly want to. We may delude ourselves into thinking that we're interested, however. Perhaps we think that we must learn so that we can become better people, or so that others think of us as better people.

The only answer is to let go of the feeling of obligation you have to learning. Do only those things that you are interested in intrinsically.

This is either a gratuitous samefag or Veeky Forums actually has more than one frustrated high school edgelord
Materialism applied to cognition does not leave arrogance about perceived mental superiority a leg on which to stand.

stop trying to rationalize your ADDH and start fixing your life. in the future, when you realize you haven't accomplished anything to be proud of in your life, you will regret having "let go of the feeling of obligation you have to learning".

Not the supergenius but this is kinda misdirected because it assumes a direct effect of "fixing one's life" from "learning."
While it is probably not good for OP's emotional health, and certainly not for their social health, to gate their actions and interactions by an IQ judgment, "learning" for its own sake turns a person doesn't develop the psyche except for a special knowledge.

>assumes a direct effect of "fixing one's life" from "learning."
I didn't say that. I said that he is eventually going to regret his current stance and what he should prioritize right now is getting his shit together.

>Marx

It's ought to be a joke

>people who are smart but lazy

Ah, this meme again. You're not smart, faggot.

Does jerking off and playing video games while you could do something useful with your time sound like something a smart person would do? No? Didn't think so, dummy.

The protagonist from Confederacy of Dunces encapsulates every character trait of anyone who has ever claimed to be smart but lazy.

The "usefulness" of an action is arbitrary.

So is the metric for intelligence?

Is nobody going to point out the irony in OP's pic? "Easy" should be easily since it is modifying a verb.

Right. Because all the great minds in history are celebrated for their "potential", and not the actual things they accomplished?

If you get hit by a truck tomorrow, nobody will remember you as an intelligent being whose passing is a loss to the world. Ergo, your "smartness" is nothing but you mentally masturbating to your own perception of yourself.
