Pynchon's self-insert character fucks an 11 year old

>Pynchon's self-insert character fucks an 11 year old
What are the implications of this?

>not knowing pynchon is seaman bodine

>Pynchon
>self-insert

Nah. Stupid reading.

I like to imagine Slothrop with Pynchon's face but I don't see him as a self insert

not OP, and I don't think Slothrop is as simple as a self-insert, but remember Slothrop's family history is basically that of Thomas Pynchon's. Going as far back as William Slothrop/Pynchon.

Pynchon's family were all pavement pounding priests? Pynchon had an ancestor burned in Salem for practicing witchcraft?

That lolis are hot because it's wrong.

No, but Pynchon's father did sell him early on to be experimented with. The experiments paid for his college and also explain why he is such a good writer.

This makes me want to read it more. How graphic is the child pornography?

go back to /co/, newfriend

answer the question fiend

it's not graphic because it's a fucking book you dense faggot
go back to /co/ if you want graphic novels

that's real funny. don't ever reply to my posts again you mongoloid

nah it made my cute gf laugh

2D pillows aren't cute

It's a family that's been in America since the 1600s.

>It's a family that's been in America since the 1600s
And that's all it takes for your saying Pynchon is Slothrop?

Isn't Tyrone a negro?

I'm not either of those posters and don't think he's a self-insert. It's just an explanation of what makes their family history similar. Mostly just the fact that Pynchon's roots have a fairly long history in America the same way Slothrop's do.

Tyrone is an Irish name lad

Source?

It's a joke. That happened to Slothrop.

I thought Benny Profane was Pynchon's self-insert, V. was the book that was most obviously drawn from his life (girl trouble with a Jewess, lots of marine stuff)

>he doesn't know that Pinecone is Brigadier Pudding

He's compared to Joyce for a reason.

Regardless of whether or not Slothrop was a self-insert though, what was the point of having him fuck Bianca? Seemed out of nowhere desu

Ngl Roger Mexico I thought was his self-insert, but I'm not an expert so

Just to shift or test your perception of Slothrop. But it could be a lot of stuff

"Funny".

I've read the book, I thought this was a thread about pinecone's self insertions

So you didn't read the book? Otherwise you would have known what I meant.

okay well it got me off

did i pass the test?

Reread my post, dipshit

Nah, you're too stupid to talk to anymore. I've had about enough of being nice to morons on this board.

Hey man, sometimes jokes are just so poorly executed that you can only blame yourself when they fail to land

Slothrop gets laid way too often to remotely resemble Pinecone.

>pynchon pictured in his head a guy fucking a 11years old

What the fuck

So... a negroe?

Pynchon is clearly Roger Mexico

I read it as Slothrop finally breaking all moral boundaries and becoming totally independent of the systems that make us 'human', allowing him get to a state where he's "just feeling natural." Consider the section of GR that talks about "anti-paranoia", a state where you realise that nothing is connected to anything - you can't handle that knowledge for long, and soon go mad. In the same way, Slothrop can't withstand "just feeling natural" - and that's why he fragments towards the end of the book.

She's supposed to have been conceived in one of the flashback sex scenes which makes her approximately 15

I mean, wasn't this a lot more common in the 40's though? Jerry Lee Lewis legally married a 12 year old in the early 50s.

Also, I was always under the impression that Osbie Feel was the self-insert since he adresses the "camera" a few times.

if you're referring to bianca, she was 16 according to the gr wiki

Slothrop doesn't know that though right?

Important reminder that Pynchon audited a course taught by Nabokov.

These pedos travel in packs and transmit their loathsome fetishes like viruses. Once infected their is no cure save incarceration until death.

What was the point of the scat part?

Lolita was ani-pedo.

Have you no imagination?

Pynchon was clearly Joaquin Stick

Pynchon was The Riddler all along!

I got it.

...

She's actually 16. Pynch deliberately has the narration make you believe she's 12. Partly answers

Explain?

Bianca was conceived during the filming of that movie that made Pokler get a boner and have sex win Leni, which conceived Ilse, which means Bianca is older than her.
I forget how old she was though.

Are you sure it was the filming of it and not a screening of it?

>le scat scene was so randumb and groooss XDdd
Shut the fuck up. Its like when people can't discuss End of Evangelion without some faggot bringing up shinji jacking off to Asuka and losing his shit over it.

It was during the filming

word is Pynchon has never had trouble with the ladies though

Does anyone else try to read the little songs out loud?

He is clearly Pointsman

>he watches anime
all starting to make sense now

kek

check up William Pynchon.

He's Grigori you fool.

Why would the narration lie about Bianca's age?

>“Alpdrücken, was our first. I think Bianca is his child. She was conceived while we were filming
this. He played the Grand Inquisitor who tortured me. Ah, we were the Reich’s Sweethearts—Greta Erdmann and Max Schlepzig, Wonderfully Together—”

>He knows he’s vulnerable, more than he should be, to pretty little girls, so he reckons it’s just as well, because that Bianca’s a knockout, all right: 11 or 12, dark and lovely, wearing a red chiffon gown, silk stockings and high-heeled slippers, her hair swept up elaborate and flawless and interwoven with a string of pearls to show pendant earrings of crystal twinkling from her tiny lobes . . . help, help.

So Bianca was actually older than 12, but Slothrop saw her as looking like she was 12 years old? What did Pynchon mean by this?

He was trying to show degeneracy in the midst of/right after an entire fucking World War. He's obviously not supporting Slothrop or any of the people on the ship in it, in fact he's criticizing their degeneracy. Remember that besides Slothrop, they're all rich people having an orgy on that boat while the world is crashing down in flames spectacularly around them.

The boat was called The Anubis, Egyptian god that weighed peoples hearts do determine if they were worthy of entering the afterlife (among other jobs).

Also when the boat reaches it destination the inhabitants are starving.

Could this have been referring to the Sexual Revolution?

Wouldn't it have been a bit early for that?

yes, and its a sign of how well he writes them that when i read one of his songs out for the first time i naturally a find a tune which works for the whole song

I said try, because I can rarely make it work, in my head or aloud. I am the same when reading poetry, I can't get the rhythm or anything and it just makes reading any sort of verse annoying.

Any advice? I really would like to get into reading verse but I just don't get it.

GR was WRITTEN during the Sexual Revolution. Also I remember reading somewhere about someone who thought the Rocket was a symbol for the Sexual Revolution of the 70s.

Shes real and has real blood flowing threw her veins.

>Pynchon being anyone but Byron the lightbulb
How pleb can you get Veeky Forums

Read this in a stereotypical Scottish accent

checked

I hate you faggots for memeing into reading this
Im already 300 pages in so I'm not going to drop it. I keep reading it because the good parts are so good but there are other parts when I really don't have a single clue of what the hell is going on, and they are so dense, is like trying to read while being blinded by words

Yeah I have managed to even sing some of them
Read slowly, try to notice which letters are more charged and how they relate with each other

A lot of the songs in the book are actually written to the tune of real songs

Did they ever mention what Ilse's age was in the book? I don't think Bianca being born before Ilse means that she wasn't 11, all it means was that she's older than Ilse. Unless the book mentions how big of a gap there was between the moment Pokler saw it and the time it was filmed?

Grigori is the reader, aka you. Pynchon is Bert

Nice, thanks for setting me straight. I returned my copy to the library so there was no way to look it up.

If it makes you feel any better, I wanted to quit when I was around page 300 too. You haven't even begun to experience the best the book has to offer.
