Vonnegut sucks

Nah. Vonnegut is a one-trick pony. I enjoyed him in highschool but he really is a teen-aged author. As soon as you've read someone like Gaddis or even Pynchon, you realize how fucking below average Vonnegut really is. Anyone who still likes Vonnegut into their 20's and beyond has yet to discover the better authors.
