I think they are not literature

I want to kill the mocking ones

They are the most beautiful organisms on earth. I would never want to harbor one as a pet unless I had to, though.

Also birds are the most Veeky Forums animals

the cuckoos are the progenitors of one of the grandest legacies known to literature, cuckoldry.

This guy is a qt :3

I do not like the way their neck bobs when they walk but i must admit I am quite fond of their feet

These are my favorite birds

why not have one as pet. is it cause you think they appear trapped. lots of birds make very happy pets and like to be around you. you don't have to cage them all the time in fact they much prefer to be uncaged most of the day

That's a sin, nigger.

I heard a kestrel screaming the other day and then saw it flying around and it made me very pleased to see this powerful bird.

I have some sort of autistic response to Chickadees. Every time I see or hear one I'm just instantly filled with joy and can't help but smile. I'll stop and stand in the middle of a walk way just to watch them hop around in a bush or something. No matter how shitty life gets, these little guys will always exist. And that makes life a little bit easier for me.

THE BIG BLACK COCKATOO

HOW CAN WHITE BIRDS EVEN COMPETE?

The only thing I like about winter is going for walks in this park near my house. The chickadees like to hang around there too. On a quiet morning the only thing I'd hear is the crunching of snow as I walk, and the chattering of these little guys. I don't think there's anything in this world as simple as a chickadee that brings me so much joy. I appreciate how they stick around in the wintertime, as opposed to flying south like most other birds. They're tough little buggers to put up with the harsh winters we get here.

I generally don't, but I hope they stick around all the same.

Birds are pretty neato.

They're also assholes, but two things can be true at once.

>nigger

actually,

Not that important.

Must be nice, user

I wish I was one

Since childhood I've loved the peregrine falcon. I think it's because I liked Animorphs as a kid, and the peregrine was Jake's bird morph.

haha I like birbs !

a couple of goldfinches were in my garden the other day

Patrician taste there user, Peregrines are fantastic

Very Important

Such beautiful plumage, like the ermine cloak of an emperor !

WE WUZ DINOSAURS AND CHIRP

I love birds but prehistoric mammals are way cooler

>tfw no pet mastodon
>tfw you will never ride a megaloceros
>tfw you will never walk with a group of gigantopitheci

They make a great subject for poems: Tennyson (the eagle), Thomas Hardy (the darkling thrush), Whitman (Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking), Poe (the raven).

My two main observations from being an amateur birdwatcher are (1) that people rarely notice the sounds of birds at all, and (2) the world is a perpetual war zone for them. If rival birds venture even a few feet beyond their own territory, it's on.

Not all birds fly.

why did this make me sad

Very alive to them. On my porch about 30 minutes ago with my dog watching the sun rise just inundated in chorus. Could recognize cardinal and robin in the mix. was an odd metallic piping i couldn't identify, but wish i could. simply beautiful.

when i was a kid the thing to do was shoot starlings with a pellet gun. I know more after getting the basic course in physics and from picking up some athletics could do it now but all I ever did as a kid was shoot cans

>was an odd metallic piping i couldn't identify, but wish i could
collared dove?

Akin to pigeon? I'll check the visual and be on the look out. Thanks!

Blackbirds are nesting in the hedge in my yard right now, very comfy.

Nigger cats will ruin everything though because narcissistic cat owners think their spoiled beasts are entitled to ruin everything.

whenever I see a soaring bird I get envious of the freedom of flight.

the more intelligent birds also strike me as great pets, but keeping those creatures in cages...

i always wonder if they are looking at me when i see one move his head in my general direction

also, i find it very interesting how sometimes when there's strong wind you can see a bird flying against it so that they are completely fixed in a point respectively to the soil. i once saw one still like this for 4 full minutes

Is there anyone here from Washington? Need a book from the local library

They're cute and pure, definitely Veeky Forums.
Also, this is a little Easter gift for you guys, enjoy:

THE SOLITARY BIRD

Solitary bird, you sing
from the crest of the ancient tower
to the landscape, while day dies:
while music wanders the valley.
Spring brightens
the air around, exults in the fields,
so the heart is moved to see it.
Flocks are bleating, herds are lowing:
more birds happily make a thousand
circles in the clear sky, all around,
celebrating these happy times:
you gaze pensively, apart, at it all:
no companions, and no flight,
no pleasures call you, no play:
you sing, and so see out
the year, the sweet flowering of your life.

Ah, how like
your ways to mine! Pleasure and Joy
youth’s sweet companions,
and, Love, its dear friend,
sighing, bitter at passing days,
I no longer care for them, I don’t know why:
indeed I seem to fly far from them:
seem to wander, a stranger
in my native place,
in the springtime of my life.
This day, yielding to evening now,
is a holiday in our town.
You can hear a bell ring in the clear sky,
you can hear the cannon’s iron thunder,
echoing away, from farm to farm.
Dressed for the festival
young people here
leave the houses, fill the streets,
to see and be seen, with happy hearts.
I go out, alone,
into the distant country,
postpone all delight and joy
to some other day: and meanwhile
my gaze takes in the clear air,
brings me the sun that sinks and vanishes
among the distant mountains,
after the cloudless day, and seems to say,
that the beauty of youth diminishes.

You, lonely bird, reaching the evening
of this life the stars grant you,
truly, cannot regret
your existence: since your every
action is born of nature.
But I, if I can’t
evade through prayer,
the detested threshold of old age,
when these eyes will be dumb to others,
and the world empty, and the future
darker and more irksome than the present,
what will I think of such desires?
Of these years of mine? Of what happened?
Ah I’ll repent, and often,
un-consoled, I’ll gaze behind me.

why aren't you reading 'the peregrine'?

I liek burds

I'm a big fan of tits.

>why aren't you training a goshawk

>why aren't you avoiding your wife by travelling around the country to look at rooks and other assorted corvids

Because you will never know the tender love and innocence of a babby penguin

love these little guys. I went hiking up a mountain a few days ago and there were a ton of them around the peak.

shitty phone pic related.

The other day I heard that people still train birds of prey to wipe other birds out from the airspace above airports, for safety reasons.

Interesting that such a low tech method is still in use. I would have guessed that they used some kind of high frequency sound to drive them away or something like that.

>Nigger cats will ruin everything though because narcissistic cat owners think their spoiled beasts are entitled to ruin everything.
when did Pentti Linkola start posting on Veeky Forums?

>tfw your penguing mommy will never puke in your mouth

>fragile numale can't deal with the natural & omnipresent prey/predator relationship
what a surprise

...

:^)

Chickadees don't migrate.

Ravens are pretty chill.

>dipshit on Veeky Forums defends outdoor cats
I know it's just a shitpost but I wish harm upon you and your family

Cats only kill small birds while they mate, everything else is too smart and quick for them. I've a colony of Blackbirds and Passers near me, two cats and only thing that they kill are several Tits and few Redstarts in spring. After spring the cats won't kill a thing. Blackbirds must be too smart for them. They always occupy the same bushes as the cats, but never when they're around, and I've never even saw a cat go after one, and passers are colonial, Large bunches, again impossible to catch. Much bigger killer are Jays, those fuckers are vicious.

Look up the ecological effects of outdoor cats desu. It's pretty horrific.

if youre a birdfag read Jonathan Franzen

I can though, I do so by poisoning the cats.
